And you thought your mail was taking a long time.
Some will die in hot pursuit
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain

Dear son
as I have little time to get my things in order due to health reasons
please confirm your info to me so we may proceed to have the 2 million dollars transferred to you and your account its important we do so with the next month my time is short and docs say no hope to live
if I do not receive any word back from you I will assume the stories are true . you never made it home after the war
I will just gift the money to your dad's favorite charity the home for wayward girls . he always insisted on visiting and supporting the girls over the years . while he was alive ,that man was passionate about that place and care of the young ladies
so please to Confort a old lady about to meet her maker, I pray your alive and well and respond soon
as always I love you son
my small contribution
its not uncommon for a letter or package to get lost and found some time later ooopps we all have had it happen some never found .
I had a package some years ago it showed arriving in Columbus Oh and then nothing I started contacting and even ask the local Postmaster to join in who also helped out greatly.
after several weeks
ahh guess what we found it
the final story the USPS had moved the storage warehouse in Columbus to a new location and Suprise they had left behind several of the large baskets used to move mail around in the building still full .. after my local postmaster started asking one of the workers in Columbus joined in and started looking and found several of the carts still loaded in the old building
good old government ran busness
Let me guess, it was another mail in ballot for Joe,,,
Really Randy, CNN???? Sheesh....
Well, he does have a cat or two in the house now...
I am THIS close to kicking those demons out, too.

Back when they hauled the mail in sacks, that stuff happened all the time. They quit in about 1990. I found a postcard in the office I worked at once. Down behind a radiator. It was from 1964.
Pretty sure they made a movie about that @notnow . Remember "Postcards From the Edge"? 😁
Hollywood has been hard up for ideas for a long, long time!
