what advice have you heard at the gun store or range, that made it hard to keep a straight face?

I worked with a guy who would top any story with tales from his army sniper days. Like the qualification course where he had to shoot 1 inch groups at 1000 yards.
I know all about that gun.Thats what I use on all my video games.
A guy in Alaska told me he shot a moose with a 7MM mag at 700 yards, offhand. When I asked where he sighted in he said 100 yards on a paper plate. I asked where he shot the moose, he replied in the neck. I asked where he held to make the shot, he said right where the bullet hit.
Me thinks his range estimation was a we bit off.

Just listen to the blowhards here who talk about themself all the time!
I don't think there's advice topping this for being bad:
For home protection:
Go out onto the balcony.
Fire two blasts from your double barrel shotgun (which is not only basically illegal, now you have an empty gun).
And the topper is the position of authority. Biden was the Vice President of the United States, the second highest office in the country, and he is giving this bad advice.

In the local store there was a guy bragging to the sales guy about shooting 1" at 500 yards on a cold windy day with his AR-15 with the <blah blah blah...tactical BS...etc etc etc...expensive add-on...blah blah>.
When he was finally done, I stepped up to the sales counter. I grinned and I told the sales guy I wanted to see every gun he had that can shoot 1" at 500 yards. The sales guy, without missing a beat, said "That guy over there can help you."

The air force "sniper" with the rifle which was electronically keyed to only his fingerprints . That way no one else could steal and use his rifle. His feats of marksmanship were the stuff legends are made of .
Classic case of "Legend in his own mind!"🙄
I worked 42 years on the railroad, heard more BS than I could ever remember. Trust me, when it comes to gossip woman don’t have nothing over on a man. LOL.
There was a "sous chef" on here that had done er'all, owned er all, and knew all sorts of world famous people.......
And a guy with an 190 mph Audi that topped even him.

I kinda miss old what's-his-name.
He sure could toot his own horn.
9mm will blow a lung out of the body. Try that with a .45.
At a home expo the water softener guy was telling people that they needed the cleanest water because the human body absorbs 2 gal of water during a shower. I mentioned that since 2 gal of water weighs 16.5 lbs, NO woman would ever take a shower and do people really fall for this BS. (Yeah, I'm a real people person.) He wasn't happy.
sorry marines he is one of yours
a disgrace to the uniform and rank
top of the list
any statement concerning guns spewing out of creepy joes mouth
I tracked him down and he is a short order cook at Paul's Possum and Grits Café-
That guy was such a fraud. But he sure fooled one or two on here with his tales
Wasn't he the guy who stumbled onto a rare Corvette L88 for little of nothing and sold it for a mint?
That was the yarn he spun.
he was a good story teller
I hope karma looks after him
Oh that guy, I had forgot about him. He was a real gas bag too.
Wasn't he the guy that moved to Italy with his TWO Ferraris and was a chef on some super yacht?
My money says that guy is still living in his MIL house in Montana and that whole moving to Italy was another one if his tall tales
Lol. , why shouldn’t he ? Prob still here spinning tall tales!🤓
Only a thousand yards? I had to do it at 2500 and half inch groups. with a .22
You heard it here worst.
I would wager a lot of people have never seen a ruger 44 mag rifle
And at a glance they do look like a 10-22
1st one I seen many many years ago
I was one of the dummys i had no idea they made them
I Seen a crazy price on a ruger I thought was a 10-22 at the end of a table .so I had to look
I Picked it and learned something new
I don't remember the price but should have bought it lol
I've interrupted and told some of them BSer's that they have something brown on their lip, while looking them in the eye.
When they start trying to wipe it off I then tell them "nevermind it's not going to come off it's permanent BS"
Older fellow was trying to sell me a 9422, pre '64. I told him it was a nice gun but I was not interested.
Sad part he did not know any better.
You get a Promote for that one @JimmyJack!
Sorry part, it is the truth. They take every topic and thread, and within two lines they are talking about themself!
The Sporting Goods Manager at Wal~Mart told a customer the Mossberg 500 would shoot either 12 or 20 gauge. [The advertising said it was available in 12 or 20 but she didn't grasp what that meant.]
..."drill it out to make the hole smaller"
yikes, thats scary
If your Worls class! Record buck , too. Lol
The Mossberg 500 WILL shoot 20 and 12 gauge shells at the same time......once!
When Brandon whispers "I'm not kidding, this is no joke."
This is who I was was thinking when it came to spinning tales. I mainly remember his .22lr legends that supposedly a 10/22 with a couple of over the counter parts could change it into a 1/4 MOA gun with any ammo.
My .357 magadum (that is how he said it) will blow a hole clean through an engine block, there is no place to hide from it......
