Heck, my Ford coulda done that on bad gas and 3 missing spark plug wires!
Notice that they didn't show it stop. With 187 tons, it may take a while.
And 3 flat tires too, 'cause it's a Ford.
Here is the event that inspired that commercial.
Yeah, I forgot that!
..up hill in the snow on the way to school
I had that pick up same color. New in 1974.
They don't mention that after about 30 feet the transmission had burnt up all the lining on the clutches.
Joe
Mule train!
I had a 1986 GMC 3500 dually 6.2 diesel 4 speed manual with 4.54(?) ratio axles. It would LITERALLY pull a train (just not very fast).
I remember the commercial very well
I was truly a huge chevy fan back in the day so much my family dis owned me, they were all were ford die Hards they even blead ford blue when cut LOL
I worked one summer with a uncle helping him with his scrap yard . core business around 1979 or so when the job markeet tanked
I bought a 200.00 chevy 3/4 ton chevy truck ( I think it was a 73 or 74 ) out of a local wrecking yard the guy that turned in said he kept going thru starters. I spent a lot of time at thet junk yard pulling parts a lot of mustang and camaro parts and selling them local or in the trade papers
any way I put a new started and flex plate and used it all that summer hauling scrap iron and aluminum along with the eng and trans mission cores to places like jaspers
many time I would have the back bumper dragging the road with a load of scrap ( that was after I added more springs to the rear ) it would get so light in the front tires barley made contact. I know I had over 3 tons in cast iron on it more than a few times I blew out at least a half dozen tires that summer on the back of it
but it more than paid for its self many times over end of the summer I sold it to one of my uncles sons for the 200.00 and it just kept hauling scrap
That was back before Chevrolet took all kinds of TARP money from Chocolate jesus. I wouldn't spit on a chevy if it was on fire now.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
It may pull it but I'll guarantee it won't stop it.
They didn't need to worry about stopping it, they left the brakes engaged on all of those trailers...
Was it a Ford commercial that showed one of their pickups carrying a Chevy up a big pile of rocks?😄
Yes it was a Ford hauling a chevy.
Now it's about the all the comfort and enought computer power to run NASA
I remember most of the old one liners poking fun at Ford chevy and dodge what ever your favorite was or is
but most I could not post on here her are a few
Found on road dead
first on race day
On a quiet night you can hear the chevys rusting away
