But, but, but, Geriatric Joe said...

The Covid emergency is over as of yesterday.

Of course my bride got the call yesterday saying someone that she was in close contact with Saturday was sick and tested positive for Covid. After she woke up today with the sniffles and a slight fever, I suggested she get it checked out. Yupp... you guessed it, the Covid test came out positive. She brought home Paxlovid and some kind of cough suppressant so hopefully that will prevent serious symptoms and speed her recovery.

As for me, hacking, sneezing and coughing are normal parts of my allergies and don't seem worse than usual, so I will hold off a bit getting tested. Gonna be a long few days, so a few positive thoughts sent our way would be appreciated. Bob

Prayers for a quick recovery for your wife and a robust immune system for you! You didn't actually believe Joe, did ya?

Try not to worry, it can be scary I’m sure when first told. The way they hyped it up at first one would think they have cancer when told positive. That paxlovid helps a great deal I’ve heard.

You will be in my prayers tonight.

Cases will continue to be diagnosed as COVID as a cause, or as a contributor as long as the Federal Government keeps paying the medical community for coming up with COVID cases.

Both of you will be good to go real soon, I have spoken!

Joe Biden and his socialist policies has done far more damage to our economy than Covid.

    Hope you feel better soon.

Both of us had it back in Sept. and got the Paxlovid which did help. The cough and fatigue the first few days is what we had. Other than that we got through it okay. It did take me a few more weeks to get back to a normal energy level whatever that is at my age.

Hope your wife recovers rapidly, and yourself as well if you come down with the bat pox.

Just remember that if you are sick and get tested, there are only two outcomes:

    You are positive, and sick.

    You are negative, and sick.

    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

He can't win, when he said the pandemic was real, the right said it was fake. Now he says it's over, and you folks get it. Sorry, do your best to take care of her. We did our best for two years, then got it for Christmas, wife still dealing with long haul problems. Couldn't pay me enough to be a politition.

  • BobJudyBobJudy Member Posts: 6,630 ✭✭✭✭

Not sure who in their right mind would ever want to be a politician. Of course, looking at the quality of politicians we get, being normal hasn't been a qualification for some time.

My mentioning Geriatric Joe was more out of a sense of irony that Judy has managed to avoid Covid for 3 long years and gets it as soon as the emergency is declared over. I am one of the rare persons on the right who never doubted the pandemic was a serious problem. Judy and I know too many folks that have had serious cases of it and even a few that died. I may question our glorious politicians response to it but not the fact that the pandemic was real.

Sorry that your wife is still dealing with it. It is hard to be patient but some of the folks we know took 6 months to fully recover their energy and sense of taste and smell. Most if not all made it back to at least 90% if not more. Bob

Wu flu is real and here to stay, just like any other type of influenza.

Each strain can * or kill each and every one of us, no one is exempt.

We both had it last August, and I was nearly to the point of going to the hospital, my wife on the other hand, shook it in two days and worked from home.

Good luck Bob, and best wishes to your bride in getting healthy soon.

I am hoping for your best outcome Bob. Lost a hunting partner of 35+ years to it, and I just don't have much patience for nay-sayers or science denyers. I apologize for missing the irony in your post. I can be slow at times.
