Wow that IS really pretty. Where'd you find that one?
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Oh WOW. Even the scope rings. Time and work put into that one. Very nice.
That's a sweetheart, for sure.
I'm sitting about a mile from Bill Mowrey's old gunshop/gunsmithing business.
A close friend bought the property/shop many years ago, and recently retired from his own gunsmithing business.
Small world.....😉
FANCY!!
Sorta reminds me of my old Remington 03-A3 sportier. Mine is not as pretty as that one but I only paid $325.00 for mine.
Beautiful, @Smitty500mag

What in the Wide World of Sports is a .264 Bearcat? I tried my Google Fu on it and came up with nothin'.
Did a bit more digging and came up with this little blurb from an article discussing the .264 Thor on a European handloading forum,
One such experimenter was Wichita Falls, Texas, gunsmith Bill Mowrey (later of blackpowder Mowrey Rifle Co. fame). Bill necked down the 7x61 S&H and called his creation the 6.5mm Bearcat. Bill told me that his biggest problem in the mid-1950s was trying to find slow-burning powders suitable for the cartridge. Today, that’s not a problem.
So it appears to be a cartridge developed by Bill Mowrey, the builder of the rifle, and it's a necked down 7x61 Sharpe & Hart.
+It is exquisite rifle if only--you know, dang it. 264 Cat?
Smitty put a period correct scope on that, imo.
$325.00 how long ago??? I bought a brand new 94 Winchester for $71.00 from Reeses Sporting Goods in Williamsport, Pa. and they threw in a box of shells. But that was 1956 and I worked damn hard for that money on my paper route selling the Sun Gazette. If memory serves me, I got about 8-9 bucks a week, rain or shine.
There are two Charles Dalys, a 12 and a 20.
I was living in Montgomery Alabama at the time so that would have been around 2001 about 22 years ago.
