Mark's personal collection? The guns, the tools, the reference material?
Comments
Also Doc's collection
Just a wild guess
I would wager Mark had a will and would have decided where and or who gets his collection
To me what is sad obvious we lost Mark and lost all his knolage ,neither can be replaced
RIP Mark
With that said my wife and I just a few weeks ago said we need to get a will made out were not getting any younger
Most of Doc's collection was sold on the S&W forum. He was known there as "saxon pig", and they did well from what I remember.
That make sense
How long ago did Doc die?
5 years?
Marks passing, not only left a big void in the forums, But on the world. Mark was an honest, beautiful person. I really miss him. I made my will out, about five years ago. I left Chris Streett my M1 Garand and about thirty cans of ammo to go with it. A few other close personal friends will get some of my firearms also. My son will get the rest. I met Chris on the forums, and we quickly became good friends. We see each other in the Mountains, and I have been to his shore house. Another great guy. Oakie
Hey Folks. Get it done. Two weeks ago. Will, Living Trust. Health Proxy, Power of Attorney, Burial instructions. About 20 firearms to friends/family. Remainder: one third to my daughter the Trustee. One third to USMA Rifle Team in memory of my old boss. One third to West Virginia Rifle Team as a gift from Son a grad.
You better believe the load on my shoulders is 50% lighter now and yes we all miss Mark-----------------Ray
Raymond is a smart man- even if he is from Louisa (inside dig- I'm from Powhatan VA) Found a small fill-in the blank book for a couple of bucks called "Now that I'm gone...". It is to help the executor and family once you have traveled on. Besides having a will, medical POA, living will, this tells them where you stashed stuff. Call this company for my IRA, call this one for my life insurance, I have a CD with this company, etc.
And for folks that I like that really admire a gun I have- think about giving it to them NOW. That way, you get to see them enjoy it.
We got the news about his passing in March of 2021. Bob
chme, small world. My sister lives in Powhatan. Was born in Norfolk when U-boats were on the prowl and black out shades were drawn. Then to Highland Park Elementry, Northside Junior High, Hermitage High in Henrico. Along the way Apple Grove and Mineral in Louisa County. Will end my journey in Louisa off RT 33. That's where my roots are amongst the common folk. Besides there are no secrets anymore. --------------------------------------Ray
Thanks. I miss seeing Doc on the forum. I kind of liked that old guy.
Let me inform some of you people or maybe even all of you Mark hasn't been dead 5 years, he PM'd me here on GB'ers in May of 2021, that is only 2 yrs ago....(documented on this site), we even talked on the phone sometime after that. The exact date he died I'm not sure of, I learned of his passing the same as you did, on here. ☹️

@Junkballer
You're right, thread and dates can be very confusing when mixed. Guess I need a drink to read these things straight, it sometimes gets very confusing to a sober man 😃

We? Don
That's twice that 'We' thing has happened
Yeah, Austin still has a mouse in his pocket!
I have a document pinned to my computer home screen that describes my final wishes. It also tells my wife my passwords, PINs and other personal info needed to access my bank accounts and such. There's a short list of my valuable books, and where to find values for other things.
Great idea Rocky.
Got one of those "You are not in any kind of trouble" emails from Mark in Feb22. He wanted to know if I was interested in being a Moderator. I had to decline because my wife was so sick. -------------------------------------Ray
I remember you being a candidate. I still have a list too.
Rumor has it he may be pregnant but you didn't hear it from me!
he would know he is a nurse..........
That one gets my approval.
Great idea, BAD implementation. What if someone steals/hacks your computer? You will be screwed.........
Print it out, give it to the wife, whatever.........don't leave it unsecured.....
Merc
Good point, ^^^^
He weren't near old.
I think Doc was only a few years older than me. I'm 59, and I think Doc was in his early 60's.
I got all that done a few years ago, wife and I have a trust. After my last trip to the Dr I also paid for a my cremation, trying to leave my wife with as few problems as I can.
I think that is about right.
