Does anyone have information on what date HP did the update that then required OE ink cartridges?

My wife finally had enough of that nonsense and bought an Epson Eco-Tank 2850. It's still in its box, as she is determined to use up every last printed letter of ink in her HP. Then, it's going to the recycle place.
Thanks Rocky.
I've been refilling my Canon Pro-10 13"x19" (10 ink carts) printer for several years using "Precision Colors" refill kit that includes a "resetter" for the chip in the carts. Works quite well for me.
Bad news is Precision Colors only does refill kits for Canon and Epson.
My wife went and bought a Canon printer last Friday.
Maybe you should title it the "another HPD printer question"...🤣
Glad you found a solution..
Come'on fellas......we should all know by now........that it's not a printer problem.
It's an INK problem!!🤪😎
HA! That too. HPD has lots of printer and computer questions. Good thing his wife is pretty up on this stuff, or he'd be sunk.
No, it's an HP problem. I am thinking class action law suit, because that crap is illegal.
That might happen, and HP would likely lose. And then HP users would get checks for $1.27 or so.
In the meantime, when the last drop of HP your ink is gone, go buy a Brother or an Epson.
I have little need for a printer. Since I would go X number of months without using my printer, when I went to use it, the ink would all be dry. When I occassionally need something printed, I just email what I want printed to the UPS store, stop as I go by and they print out what I sent them. Lots cheaper than buying a printer. The UPS store isn't even 50 yards from the road I drive down several times a week. Not to mention their copies are real nice. I often get change back from a dollar bill!!
An added attraction is a young hottie that works there!!😁
