Met with the bone cutter today . Per the ct scan it is wrecked . Will have to be totally replaced , bones will have to be built up and rotator cuff redone . Will do a reverse replacement.
Due to vacation schedules conflicts , his and ours ( the wife's) it will be middle of August to get it done .. Soundslike I'm in for a treat
Surgery schedule person called today. It is definitely set for August 13

A friend had one replaced. It went so well he wanted the other done.
Man, that doesn't sound like fun. My BIL Bobby just had that surgery in January. He is just getting back to normal. He never complains, but said his shoulder was very sore for a while, which meant he was in a lot of pain. He rehabbed without the use of pain meds. He is 64 years old. This is him putting in the kitchen cabinets, at my rental about three months ago. Oakie
Had mine done about 10 years ago. Only complaint is that I didn't have it done earlier. (HS football injury, couldn't play catch with my sons.)
Do the rehab and use it lightly for a while and you'll enjoy doing things again.
You will have hardware like me after your surgery - Best Regards - AQH
Dang! We need a bug-eyed-holy-crap! emoji for pictures like the one @AdamsQuailHunter put up! I'll bet you get a lot of attention from the TSA (Totally Sh!^^y Attitude) folks when you go through an airport!
Even though I dread being laid up for any length of time ,I look forward to feeling normal and not hurting 24-7.
Oakie, your BIL is like me, we do best work lying down! 😎

HaHa, good luck with that plan/expectation.
Yeah ,I know . Arthritis in every major joint in my body . In truth the surgery will in the long run, eliminate at least one source of pain . Between the scoliosis in the back and planters fasciitis in the foot I am a lost cause ,lol.
These made a huge difference for me, and my PF. They have many, many ones to choose from, so it might help you out.

I have 2 rotator cuffs that are damaged due to 2 falls I've had recently after having surgery on both knees at the same time to repair torn tendons. So all 4 of my limbs are out of commission. It's very hard and painful to get up and get around.
Smithy, having had three total knee replacements ,I sympathize with you . Getting old aint for sissies.
