Winchester 88 Lever gun

I am going to list this old Winchester model 88 chambered for .308 and I looked up the serial number, 15462 and turns out she was made in 1955, the first year of production. It is just an old hunting rifle, the stock has a repair, and a recoil pad was added but the bore is excellent, and I was told she shoots very well. These rifles have a reputation for accuracy. I need to get it back in the hands of someone who will get her back in the field.

Im anxious to see what it goes for. Ive got a couple, one new unfired in the box.
I collect the Model 88 and even have one tattooed on my forearm. The pre 64 and even the post 64 308 calibers, haven't moved much over the years.. The 284 and 358 is where the money is, commanding anywhere from 1,800, to 4,000 for the 358. I have the rare transition model 88. It has the impressive basket weave under the forearm, and was only made in 1963, the year I was born.
I have no idea why the price of the 308 and 243 have stayed so stagnate. I do know that they kick like a mule, without the recoil pad installed. I would say it is worth anywhere from 600 to 800 bucks, but who knows, since it is a first year model. Condition doesn't matter much on the rifle, since it was hunting rifle, not a collectors piece. This is my tattoo of an Eagle, resting on a model 88
Post a link when you list it please.

I love that S&W 422 you have for sale. That pistol is in damn near mint condition!!!! That 88 should sell quickly. The only other thing I see that is missing, is the front site hood, but they are easily available. I bought one a few weeks back for my great uncles 88. You wanna see a beat to heck rifle, His looks like it was drug down a mile of asphalt, full of pot holes. LOL I got a replacement stock on order for his. He is 97 years old, and still hunts with us in PA. Now you got me thinking about that 422 and how I can beg the wife for it!!!
The same exact way that you asked her about the new Harley. That 422 belongs to sam06 and is very nice. And it is legal even in N.J.
That damn new Harley, cost me a set of diamond earrings!!!! To be honest, I would give everything I own, just to see her happy. Donna is a wonderful wife, mother and my best friend, but I still want that gun!!!LOL
I am sure that you look dashing in your new earrings.
I already have 2 ,308 rifles that I hardly ever shoot, So I'll pass on that one. Nice rifle though, Good Luck.

They match my high heels and white G string. LOL
That's way, way, way more than we needed to know! Where did I put my good bottle of scotch? Maybe when I wake up with a massive hangover the picture that conjured up will have faded.😁 Bob
if you buy them in brown or yellow, you don't have to wash them as often..........
