Nice to see the primers back

After a three year hiatus my box store in Wisconsin has thousands of primers in stock. There is light in the end of the tunnel. πŸ˜€

Same thing is happening here in my area of Colorado. A month ago I was able to buy primers in a gun store. First time in a few years.

Price? When I first started reloading, primers were so inexpensive that it wasn't worth figuring them into the cost of a reloaded cartridge. I still have a partial brick of Remington 7 1/2's on my shelves with the price marked $18.75 (tax included).

Price is $8.07 per hundred. A bit high but no hazmat fees and shipping costs.

Just 3 years ago, they were $30/1000 at the gun show.

    Thanks, Joe Biden.

I saw some Fiocchi small rifle primers in the local gun shop today for 9Β’ a primer. Pretty good deal right now.

Price not down in this area and pickings is sparse for large rifle primers and magnum powders. Powders that we normally use..

$17 box/100 Large rifle, Muron, made in RUSSIA

Large rifle magnum few and far between, if found around $25 box,

Winchester triple 7 black powder primers recently surfaced after 2 years at $17/box/100.

    Powders pushing $60 lb.

Have not seen any H1000 or RL 22 in 2-3 years.

    Lots of price gouging also.

    Thanks Democrats.

Just came back from LGS. Prices were 8.99 per 100. They were not even selling them in 1,000 boxes they were only selling them in boxes of 100.

When is the last time you saw any .22 birdshot?

  • Gregor62Gregor62 Member Posts: 3,143 ✭✭✭✭

The Dunham's store near me in southern Michigan has them every time I visit for at least the last year.

  • JimmyJackJimmyJack Member Posts: 5,489 ✭✭✭✭

I just across the pond and have not seen any for at least 2 years.

Hard to figure, just checked all the Dunhams in my part of the State, and nothing!

Bought some at a Theisen's in Coralville, Ia. not long ago. Federal, $16.50/ box of 50. .22 birdshot has always been high priced.

From what I understand there are 2 companies,SIG and Remington if I remember correctly that have new plants to produce primers to sell to the public. They are going to produce a staggering amount of primers a day.If this goes through, primers should be available at a reasonable price.

Very large well known regional outdoor store near me has primers and powder. Primera at $13.50 per hundred and saw an 8 lb jug of H4350 marked at $499.00 price at powder valley was $350.00

. Pound jugs of run of the mill powders were averaging $60.00

A local gun store is $9.00 per hundred on primers .

PSA is now making primers and once caught up for their brand of ammo will sell to the public.

A very large primer factory will soon be online in East Texas

Prices are dropping daily online. If you can wait I expect $40/K possible by the beginning of the year

Of course (as you know here) state sales tax will be added so both parties can celebrate taking more tax from the money we spent we already paid tax on

And to think we went to war with Britain for the outlandish tax rate of 2%, We are a bunch of furry cats 🐈️
