Is there a way to back out of a bid

I'm holding the high bid right now... I went over the bore condition with a friend who knows more than I... He said No way. How do I? Or do I pray I get out bid? The auction ends in 13 days so might. 🙏🤞

Out bid would be good
Honest I have no idea on GB my 1st suggestion
contact the seller and have your bid canceled
The sellers on here can help I know they have all faced similar
13 days. Me thinks you will be outbid. 😀 ----------------------Ray
Ride it out.
Care to post the auction up so we can see just how bad it is?
You can email the selller and ask them to cancel your bid. They can contact customer support and ask for the bid to be removed. Customer Support typically gets that handled very quickly, so its not hard to get done so long as it happens with enough time for them to respond to the request.
I have done same with" late night bidding" , I just ride it out or pay it. You will learn after a few.

At that low of a price, chances are pretty good you will get outbid....
Lock Stock and Barrel is a reputable seller. I think you'll be outbid but, if you contact them and tell them what's going on, they'll likely help you out.

If the bid shown is your top bid, your just fine. It's worth the current bid even if the barrel was completely shot out.
You bid on a 100 year old gun in 25-10 rim fire.
You will never find ammo for it & if you do the ammo will cost more than the gun.
Is that gun anything but a wall hanger?
I would also add for future reference, the seller described the bore in the auction as a “4 out of 10” .
I read it.... I was thinking about a reline. But it's at least 300.00

I say suck it up and hope you get outbid. I think backing out is bad form.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Not a normal thing to hope a member gets outbid, but I have my fingers crossed for you. We all have had those, don't look before you leap moments, and I hope it works out for you.
Always liked the rolling blocks and wanted one in 7X57 for a long time but never found the right one. Got a great deal on a Ruger #1 in 7X57 so I assuaged my single shot 7X57 desire somewhat but it ain't a rolling block. Bob
Just for future reference on barrel ratings.
10 As new, perfect.
9 Near perfect.
8 Bright& shiny, some wear.
7 shiny, some wear minor pitting.
6 Good riflings.
5 Decent riflings.
4 Shootable.
3 Dark bore, pitting & corrosion.
2 Heavy pitting, some rifling.
1 Very bad, just a hole.
They are a very reputable seller. They might let you retract your bid. I went through this one with a seller. He claimed that the handgun was a Lew Horton. I contacted Lew Horton with the serial number and they said it was "NOT" a Lew Horton. I contacted the seller and he wouldn't retract my bid and GB could not resolve it for me. Thank God someone outbid me in the last few minutes. Even if they didn't, I wouldn't have paid for it and disputed the sale with GB.
Now, Having said that, You are in good shape. Someone will definitely outbid you. If not, Like I said before, They will probably let you retract the bid, but might block you from bidding on their guns again. If they don't work with you, let it roll. Sorry, but most of us have been through this. Some twice😉. I also remember winning a Ruger 10/22 with a mannlicher stock real cheap. Drinking and bidding on fathers day, LOL. I won it for 280 bucks. My wife almost beat me over the head with it. LOL. I ended up selling the next weekend at a gun show for 390 bucks. .... Wife was happy when I brought home the money and gave it to her. Lesson learned.
For 150.00. let er ride.
Pretty sure you will be outbid. Unless you have a much higher maximum bid.
Sometimes one can go to school and get an education or you can buy, sell, trade firearms and get a real education.
Lotsa sage advice above. My thoughts…
1) Item appears fairly represented
2) You placed your bid
3) Your situation hasn’t dramatically changed since you placed your bid
There are 5 other bidders; you just happen to be the high bid so far. If $150 is your max you’ll likely be outbid before this is over. If not, keep the moral high ground, complete the transaction, and enjoy your new rifle.
Easily a $400 rifle.
You can have someone make .25-10 brass out of .22 Hornet cases ,,,,,, if you win.
.25-10 Rimfire from Hornet Brass?
Yepper ,,,,,,,
Interesting. I'll have to look that up!

Man, that's a ton of work for one round.
I see a few other forum members are bidding on it too. At 200 bucks, your still safe. Someone will out bid you for sure.
Sad to say your ignorance (and you are sure not alone!) is not an excuse. Now you ride out the auction with all the grace you can muster.
It is part of the learnig process. As my pard Wundudnee says, "I have bought a few lessons."
Yep, and some of them cost more than others......
Yeah I'm almost out bid!!!
(Now if I could reline it myself that would be another story. Someday)

You have nothing to worry about.
But it's NICE!?!?!?
Beautiful is a better word. But in .25 rim fire and that blemish in the bore... Next time
