New and scammed
Been lurking for a while and finally bought a rifle. Gunbroker seemed like a safe place to buy and sell. Had a lot of communication with the seller and sent the payment. We've been texting back and forth and I got an email from gunbroker this morning, five days after I clicked buy, saying the transaction may be fraudulent, don't send money, and order has been cancelled! Too late there. Does this happen alot? Does anyone have similar stories? I'm hoping this may be a scam email. Looks like my only option is the buyers protection plan!?

I have been buying items off of the website for over 23 years. Never any issues....
Sorry you have hit a rough spot here..... Check in with the BUYER. Is there a phone number, call and check it out with the Buyer...

If you want, post a link to the auction and the group might have additional advice.
I have purchased several items from GB from some very inexpensive things to some fairly pricey rifles. I have never had a problem yet and most all the sellers were really good to do business with. GB is a god place to look for what you need especially if it isn't real common or readily available
Did you contact the seller again??? Since GB started in 1999, I have never had one issue . Keep us updated.
POST a link quick and maybe help.
Welcome to the forums.
Look closely at the e-mail you got from GB. Is the e-mail address from GB or some other address? If some other, it is a scam.
If it is from GB, I would reply and tell what you've told us, and ask they assist you from here.
You may also try to contact the sellers as a follow up and see if their attitude is the same as the communications during the sale. I would not mention the e-mail from GB.
Good luck, this is in the hands you and support.
