Who ever posted about this before, A big thank you. It has been on my mind ever since I read the post. I'm going to buy one this fall. I found dies and bullets for it on Gunbroker. Was showing it to my dad, and he told me he had just read an article about it too. He also was thinking about buying one. I love the straight wall cases. This will be my first ever Henry. Prices are all over the place on them, but average seems to be around 950. Some really good information about them on the internet. Oakie

IMHO another one not destined to be around very long. RP as well as WW has a history of introducing 35 cal carts ( 350 Mag, 35 Whelen, 35 Win, 358 Win, 356, 375 Win etc.) that were never popular. All good hunting rounds for sure, but short lived.
Only the 35 Rem is currently chambered and ammo easy to find.
.35 is my pet caliber, so I'll likely own a Buckhammer eventually. Why that caliber was never as popular as it should have been is something I'll never understand. Rodney Dangerfield could've rested easier knowing there was something out there that got less respect than he did.

Gunnut is right I have a 358 win and a 35 whelen never let me down. Of course 150 yards is a long shot round here. I wish the 357 max was a hit in lever carbines.
I was the original poster about the 360 Buckhammer. I like the 35 calibers too. I have taken several deer with a 35 Rem and 356 Win, both in a Marlin 336. I think this new 35 will hang around because it has ballistics similar to a 30-30 and with the 1.8" straight wall case it was primarily designed for the states that require this type of cartridge for deer hunting. I know if I lived in one of these states I would be carrying one of the new Henry rifles in 360 Buckhammer this fall. I love carrying a lever in the deer woods. It's tempting to go buy one anyway and I very well may. Oakie if you buy one of the Henry rifles you will really like it. I have one in 30-30 and it's a great rifle. I hope you get a deer with it and let us know what you think of the rifle and caliber.
I never thought the .350 Legend would be a hit, either, but I know of a lot of hunters who have one (including me!). I am in an area that until recently was a shotgun/handgun only. The .450 Bushmaster became very popular but it seems the Legend is edging its way in. The Buckhammer will probably take part of that. I will not be surprised if a Buckhammer shows up at our deer camp this fall.
It's kind of too bad that no rifle manufacturer took to the .357 Maximun.
I guess I like the .35's, too: My 35's include the .350 Rem Mag and the .358 Norma Mag.
Well, when we think there is an end in sight, I just heard WW has introduced a 400 Legend.
I read about that a couple of months ago. Sounds like it has about the same performance as the 360 Buckhammer but suitable for AR style platforms. With that and the 350, Winchester has the modern rifles covered and Remington has the lever guys covered so everyone should be happy. Bob
