Taken this morning by a buddy in California , he said it appeared to be near the border of the China Lake Naval Weapons base and moving slowly to the NW.

The light at the end of the tunnel?
There is a continuing series of balloon experiments being done from China Lake and/or White Sands.
This the first photo like this he has sent, previously he has taken some spectacular photos of night launches of some types of equipment launched from Vandenberg.
They live in the high desert with very low light pollution, so he and his wife get to see quite a few sights in the night sky. He’s lived in this and Palmdale/Lancaster area his entire life, so he’s accustomed to interesting things in the sky and has some interesting stories of things seen.
