I just picked up my new (To me) 1885 Winchester, 22 short, falling block rifle!!

This rifle is in very nice condition and is U S marked. I know these were used as training rifles, teaching troops how to shoot in the late 1800s and early 1900s. I made a smokin' gun trade so I'm happy with what I have in this old rifle!!
It is fun to hold this rifle and wonder how many young soldiers learned to shoot with this rifle and how many young soldiers went off to war after learning to shoot.

If I knew how to post pics I would be dangerous!! The sights are one of the early Lyman rear peep sights.
I have been told that the 1885 has a lot to be desired in the accuracy department!!!
