A large flock of Brewer's blackbirds landed in my backyard this morning. Any signs of fall where ..

you live??

This is the first group of birds I've seen flocking up this year. I wonder if this means an early fall, normal fall or a late fall??

I would think you northern boys have already had birds leaving if here in Upstate South Carolina we got the start of flocking up, getting ready to migrate.

So what's going on in your neck of the woods??

Hummers around here left 3 days ago. The feeding frenzy they were going through up until then was phenomenal! Then, absolutely nothing.

Well we finally have some rain off and on the last 3 days so something is changing and the temps have dropped below the 80s and it almost feels cold... but in Texas you just really never know...Local 10 day forecast says it will be above 90 again by Sunday...I'm hoping the over 105s are about done, 3 months was enough for awhile.

Even though it's still been warm, the signs of fall have been here for about three weeks.

Clearest sign we have is that it doesn't get light til 6am now.

Some will die in hot pursuit
    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
    Coming down the mountain

Orioles left a month ago and the hummers haven't been seen in a week. We've had flocks of mourning doves in the yard every day for the last week or so. In fact, way more than we normally see. Too bad the dang tree huggers in Michigan won't allow a dove season!😖 Bob

We no longer have 20+ hummers, but still have some. Today was the first day we did not have to change even 1 of the 4 feeders. Gotta plant sugar cane next year.

The combines have come alive and are working the corn fields in our area…. The bucks have shed their velvet and are moving around more. The walnut are dropping off our trees.. More night time visitors in the yard, yotes, skunks, raccoons and possums hanging around the old apple tree…

And Archery season has opened !

The Canadian Geese are back in Loleta California we are on the migratory route. I'm sure they drive the ranchers and dairymen crazy. But oh sound of them. Just beautiful.

Oh and all but one Band Tail pigeon have gone back to the hills... I have one brave one she is the first to come and the last to leave.

Sun is starting to get more noticeably lower in the sky and in your eyes. One more week until the first day of fall, and then the days will really start getting shorter.

The aspens, cottonwoods, and tamaracks are all starting to turn to their fall colors. Here in a few more weeks it'll be full on fall colors.

The geese are confused. There's a group that flies over my house most every day. Some days flying east, next day, flying west.

Up here in New York on the Vermont border...a definite sign of Fall is a massive influx of leaf peepers from NYC way...

I have a Vermont farmer friend who has a large farm stand with a big sign that states " Last Pumpkins in Vermont!!. He sells so many, he buys more from his farmer buddies in New York State...🙂

Until I looked up that Brewer's Blackbird was I haven't seen them around for a while like years? I'm thinking the scrub jays chased them away? Or the flying rats may also chased them away, too?

The ones I haven't seen in decades is the red and yellow winged blackbirds.
