If so, thoughts on it? Going to go look at a new one tomorrow.

Didn't you recently buy a Kawasaki?
I was looking at a Mule, but think that the Polaris would better suit our needs.
I bought the 570SP and so far no problems. First 500 miles not a hitch. The 1000 is probably as good if not better.
I have a Polaris RZR 800. It's ten years old and no problems.
But check out the Yamaha utv's before you buy.
Bought mine earlier this summer. Very impressed with the power & smoothness of the engine. Seems to be a well built machine that will last a long time if maintained properly.
I bought a new Ranger 1000 last fall to replace the one that burned in November. It was the only one ready to go on the dealer's lot. The only option it's short is A/C. BTW, I wouldn't pay for or even accept A/C option if it was free.
The real pluses of the one I bought are EPS(electric power steering) and the location of the heater ports (especially the ones that act as defrosters.
The downside of the cab design is the door hinges and latches. Unless you close the doors using the handgrip and lifting as the door closes, the latches don't work well. Mine has less than 100 hours on it and the hinges are already sprung. Also, the only way to attach side mirrors is through a couple of holes in the plastic doors. IMHO, that mounting will ultimately break the plastic door shell.
BTW $25K is a lot of $$ but it's the only way I can keep doing what I do.
I do not. Hope this helps.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
What cab/doors do you have?
"What cab/doors do you have?"
Polaris OEM: hard top, glass front/rear , roll up windows,
I didn't have the 1000 but had a midsize 570 and it was a good machine. No problems at all, just general maintenance. I did trade it for a General 1000. I liked the styling and versatility of the general as I ride more than work.
bought a 1000 Ranger Trail boss for the Missus in August, she likes it doing chores, hauling a couple bales of hay daily to penned horses and tending irrigation water much better than the old 4 whlr, but not enough time with it yet to give a real operational opinion .
