What would it take?

Every man has his price. Maybe it's money, maybe it's something else.
What would it take for you to sell your very favorite firearm?

I have been married three times, finding a new favorite is not that hard. Don
I have a shotgun I got for Christmas in 1965. Dad had to make payments on it. That one would be hard to part with.
If my wife or son needed the money for a medical emergency, or if one of my sisters needed the money for the same reason. God and family, come before anything material. Would it hurt, No. Anything can be replaced, except for family and friends. Oakie
Money.
For me, even thought they aren’t worth much, the Remington 550 and the Winchester 30-30 would be hard to get rid of. The sentimental value is far above their financial value.
In a pinch, I’d sell every other gun if I had to.

Death, and then my heirs can sell them. Bob
I have never had a favorite some I wish maybe kept, but I have had about as any different firearms as anybody and know a little about a lot of firearms. IF I kept them all I would not have that "knowledge."
Already sold it.
A car accident with no insurance, hadda sell five!!!!!
I have two Colts that my wife gave me, nothing could make me part with them unless I needed the money for some type of life threatening issue with her.
When younger I have some I would hang on to the end of me sentimental reasons
But being older as i can't control old age lol
realizing we are really just caretakers of such things like our firearms and at some point a new curator /user will take that roll from us.
I hope it will be my sons
but like posted
If i was pushed into selling to pay for care of myself or family the firearms would sadly have to go
obvious choice
I can only hope the new owner will take care of them And maybe pass along any history / or story I tell them
It's just a shot in the dark to wish for such things
but afterall some have been with me 60 yrs + they are part of my "family "and history Same with a 69 camaro I have had over 50 yrs
I can't say I have any favorites, but I do have one that I use fairly often that I would not sell. It's a Colt .32 made in the 1920s.

What are you offering ?
If any of my nephews or my SIL were to show interest it would go home with them.
Major medical issues with a family member in the days when our insurance sucked and we were in the middle of raising children. When the wolves are at the door, nothing is so important it can not be sold.....
I replaced some of them years later.... An early model S&W 66 is still held by someone else that will not sell it back even after I offered way more than it is worth. 😕
Uncle
Don't you remember me ?
I just got rid of the first rifle that my dad bought for me, as well as the rifle that I killed my first deer with. I decided that since I don't have any kids to pass it down to, I gave them to a good friend of mine's son. I figured that I could go on knowing that they went to a good place and not have ended up in an estate sale when I was gone, going to who only knows. It was nice knowing that a young kid still wanted an old blued model 700 in 270 Winchester and a pre 64 model 30-30, not one of the new fancy bang bangs..
Dad, I see you forgot me, you said when I was three you would always remember me??😏
I wouldn't sell Dad's guns for any amount. The rest are replaceable.

Want to know what happens to your stuff when you are gone, just go to an auction.
Here's what it would take: a lot of money... well into the millions... and an agreement that I get to keep it, have exclusive use of it until I die, and then the gun has to pass to the family member of my choosing.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
