WOW-Great photo.
Sometimes it is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.😁
Gorgeous photo, I think I'd be tempted too. Bob
What he doesn't know can't hurt him😁

If you were to build a nice underground hideaway, it would take him years to discover it!
That picture takes my breath away!!
I was thinking the same. Or build below the line of sight like on the other side of a slope.
I certainly would. Every house built on 'pristine land' makes a mess of that land. Sorry if my logic is disturbing.
A little bit but you can do a dugout with little impact. Just lots of labor. To make the job easier one can get a shipping container and bury that if there is a access road or you have a helicopter.
Plop a house anywhere on open land and soon, there's 10 acres of disturbance. Not just the house, there's sewer out, water/electric in, a driveway, grading to handle excess water runoff, the list goes on and on.
Makes no diff if it's farmland, a somewhat scenic spot, or a mountainside. My pet peeve is loss of farmland due to 'development'. They're not making land anymore and every acre that's destroyed by housing will never be used again. Same with roads, solar panels, and windfarms.
