Fixed The Jeep
I posted a while back about the wifes Jeep Wrangler leaking transmission fluid between the transmission and transfer case.Took it to a local transmission shop because I did not want to do it.The shop owner told me it would be almost 3 months before he had an opening..The Jeep is just a toy,not an everyday driver so I was going to let him do it. I was almost caught up with what I needed to do so I pulled the jeep in my shop, put it up on jack stands and pulled the transfer case, replaced the oil seals in the transmission and transfer case.I took my time, about 3 days,a few hours a day, cleaned everything very good and used the best parts and synthetic fluid I could find. The Jeep does not leak a drop now,but I had to take today off because a sore back and knees that don't want to bend.I think I just wanted to see if I could still crawl under a vehicle and do pretty hard work on it myself. I can.

you are a better man than me ,what you did there is beyond what i would be willing to tackle . good job .
I still do 90% of the maintenance on our vehicles, getting down is no problem but man that getting back up is tuff, constantly reaching and grabbing things to pull back up to get the things I forgot I needed. 🤬

Good for you
Time is the key what use to take me a couple hours now goes into days a little at a time until done
I may be able to crawl under a vehicle now but I most certainly couldn't get out or up anymore. Golden years my butt ................
It's time to do the 800 hour service on my tractor, The first thing I have to do is wrestle the 560 lb mower deck out from under the chassis. Then lay down on the cold concrete floor to drain the fluids, and replace filters. Then comes the hardest part. Trying to drag my 74 year old carcass out from under the tractor. That's the only thing about the tractor that I hate doing. I've been thinking about having a 4 post lift installed.

Ya done good!
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
If you are gonna keep the jeep get used to it!

Thats true.I was sort of surprised at what a sorry build quality the Jeep is.The only thing that I know is good on the Jeep is the 4.0 engine that American Motors used in Ramblers.
Thats the thing about Jeeps, love them or hate them, they always keep a good re-sale value.
Way to go! Your mind doesn't set as easy as it used to but the determination is still there. Well done Sir.
I bought a jeep Cherokee 4x4 in 1993 new off of the showroom floor with the inline 4.0 liter engine and out of all the vehicles I've owned in my life that has been the most trouble free engine I've ever had with hp power to spare. Easy access under the hood for tune-ups and simple minor repairs if any is needed, parts are fairly priced and plentiful too, it's a tinker'ers dream under the hood. I'll keep it until I depart.....😊

Those old square Cherokees are bullet proof. I have seen those with 300,000+ miles on them.
I love my Patriot. Recently got it back into fully operational order again(after quite a bit of $$$ to the dealer service department, they've been good to me), and really loving being back behind the wheel of it even for just a half-hour commute to work. No cruise control, no tinted windows, no electronic nannies or anything, just me and the road.
This Jeep thread needs more Jeep pictures.
Me in my Jeep.
Is that because they think the other guy is broke down?
Ya done good, congrats. Now take it easy a few days, you earned it.
I 4-wheeled for years in a “jeep club” that a bunch of us created. “ THE SKYWAY CLIFF HANGERS”. I was the only BRONCO driver. I might have limped outa the woods a couple of times but I had to tow the broken down Jeeps out many times. I still have the Bronco after 53 years.
