Guess who showed up late last night ???? !!!!!
I had been in bed for a few minutes when my bride walked in and said there is someone out here that wants to see you..... My bride heard some noise out on the porch and went to take a look. Martha was sitting there meowing when she came out.. I got up and we brought her inside to check her over. She was looking good.. a little thinner but not looking like she had spent 16 days on the road....
We put flea/tick medicine on her monthly so no tiny livestock on her anywhere. She settled in and walked back and forth between us for a little while. She did rip into her food when we set it out. After an hour or so she was pretty settled in.
We took her downstairs to her little shelter and she crawled right into it and was quite content to be there. This morning I checked her twice and she would look at me but did not come out. Finally around 10 I went back down and she came out. I took her outside with some food and set her down. She hung out with us, ate some more food and found one of her favorite places and sat and watched the yard as she always has.
We are taking it slow and will see if she sticks around all day or goes off in the haybales as she used to most days. Needless to say we were happy to see her and she seemed happy to see us... We will see how it goes..
Thanks all for the concern, prayers and comments.....

Martha, you are a rascal!
I love a happy ending to story. Maybe she learned it’s not always greener grass on the other side of the fence. Lol
Perhaps she had to prove the old adage "The grass isn't always greener...". Glad she has returned and it must be a relief to have her home. On a selfish note, I'm glad she's back because I would miss the Martha news and pics!. Bob
Glad to see Martha back as most cats will take a hiatus from time to time, but sometimes they never return. She is a pretty cat.
I had a Tom cat that would be gone several days from time to time. He had a stump tail and was built like a Bobcat. I recon he had kittens with other cats as far as 5 miles away. Everybody was getting kittens with stump tails. He was a fighter as I bet he gave other Tomcats a handful. He made it to about 12 years old and I think it was one of his sons that finally did him in.
Very good to hear but don't be surprised if she goes again... kind of like the ole saying about keeping em on the farm after they been to the big city. They do often repeat the behavior. Just love her while/when you can. And post the pics when you can!
Glad to hear maue she has bit out of her system now
Cats are independent for sure
We have had them disappear and think after a week or more they were gone only to show up unexpected like you said a little skinner especially when younger they had that urge all them were fixed but still that urge to explore must get them
Several years back we had one do that he went missing he was a very young feral kitten we took in my son found him wondering the field . we call him handsome he was maybe year old when he came up missing any way he reappeared
My youngest son is on a local face book group the small village all get on to share local gossip
My son stopped by a few days after handsome showed up back home.
a some what close neighbor about a mile away had posted a photo on Facebook does any one know this cat we have been feeding it looks healthy and friendly..
it was handsome lol He had made his way into town on his journey but has stayed home ever since
That is on point with the discussions my Bride and I have had this morning. We will treat her as we always have in the past. If she wants to stick around Great....if she comes and goes, we can live with that. Just happy to see her today and we will see what tomorrow brings...
😀
That brought a smile to my ugly mug hearing she made it home.
One thing that might help her to stay around is get another cat to keep her company.
She seems pretty settled in right now...
So glad to hear that Martha came back. If she can tolerate a collar, you might think about one of those trackers that you can put on your suitcase and follow with your phone. Maybe then you can figure out where she goes.
Great news for sure. I'm always concerned a neighbor trying to help a "lost" cat will invite mine inside, feed them, etc. and they won't return unless they can escape.
My Max is a prowler, after voles, birds, frogs, mice. I'm not sure how far he roams. In the evening, if he is outside, it takes him awhile to come to the door after I start calling him. I can hear his collar bell ringing from the hay field next to mine as he is running home.
Happy for you, dont know why but cats occasionally disappear for extended period especially those you keep outside.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Judging from your game camera picture and the new one, I think it was definitely her the first time! So glad she came home….
16 days on the road and she's gonna make it home tonight.
So glad she came home. Hopefully that's out of her system for a long time.
I am happy for you that she has made her way home.
That was GREAT !!!!!! Thank you for posting it
She was waiting for us at the door a few minutes ago.....she is crashed out again in her shelter..... So far so good...

SOOOOO glad to hear that!
Nice to hear some good news for a change.
Kind of made my day.
What number of 9 is she on?
Say did she come back with a collar? If so slap a tracker on it. For next time.
Well, I prayed for one. ❤️

...and another thing, Martha, you lil turd. You have no idea how many people you own, that each care about you.
The weather grew colder while she was on the lam & she remembered a nice comfy, warm home where she's loved.
I appreciate all the kind comments..... When she came home I was torn between strangling her and hugging her...then I looked in her eyes and was hooked all over again !!
We need a GoPro and we could watch the adventure
I know it roswell. I want to get a Beagle cam on my dog, it would be interesting to see what she sees for an hour while running around in the woods.
at least ten minutes would be of him licking his privates..........
