Woke up earlier than usual. This was taken off the back porch at 7:08 a.m..... It was cool and rain was coming ! Went out for breakfast with my Bride and Son. They headed out to do some shopping, I headed to the indoor range.

I was able to fire both firearms I use when I am serving on the security team at my church, I did a few different drills at various distances. Followed up with some target shooting with a couple .22's and then had the opportunity to fire a S&W M&P Performance Center 10mm. Wow....that one is now on the list... Hmmmm, Birthday coming up soon !!!

Wandered though Bass Pro and a couple other local gun shops before heading home. Arrived home in the late afternoon with the intentions of taking a Gator ride and changing out game camera cards. AND right on que, it started to rain !!!! Thankful to see it finally rain for an extended time today and into the evening !!

So how was your day ??

Is that a hint? I don't think your bride posts here, might want to try something less subtle.

My day? Up at 5AM and out for chores about 6:30. Following that was prepping combine for the day's run. Back to house to run taxi service for Grouch Attack. By the time I returned home, I was way behind on grain cart duty. Catching up with that used up rest of morning past noon. Rest of day was loading/unloading grain carts (I was trying to keep up with two carts), filling the semi's and getting them sent to dump. Several rain showers meant keeping everything tarped or under cover between fills. Somewhere in there was an hour of chainsaw work cleaning up some trees knocked down by high winds 2 months ago. Around 5PM, we gave up on finishing the field and then spent another hour on maintenance work.

    Fun and games all around.

Yesterday was cooler and wet, same expected rest of the week with temps dropping down to the upper 30s by next week, quite a change from the 90s 2 days ago... but we can use the rain.

There is something seriously wrong with today's idiots when you need to have a gun in church, Good for you facing up to the idiots with the only thing they understand,

Well, I could chip in a whole dollar for a dear old friend like you. Besides I owe you breakfast. Good luck with your bride. Here it was mostly gray, rain freckled the patio, and that ended the rain here in the desert. Otherwise met with the attorney and got some errands done. Bought a WWII German SA belt buckle for a friends collection. My new gun doesn't come in until tomorrow. Colt King Cobra, 10 rnd .22lr.

I saw a bit on the 10 shot King Cobra on Hickok45 that I thought was cool. I did wonder about the internals. Like if it's complex or more like S&W? I wonder if anyone has popped the side and shot a video?

"There is something seriously wrong with today's idiots when you need to have a gun in church"

You're correct BUT would you prefer being an 'easy target'?

It might surprise some folks but trustworthy gun toting citizens are coming into demand in some places. Even at my age, there have been a couple of requests for my help with security at public events. A watchful eye and the grit to step up if needed is more important than looking like a security guard.

Prepare for the worst and pray it never comes....

I have been asked to supply extra security at a few coin shows over the years. I look like a nice older dude walking about. I can usually get some decent deals at the end when everyone is packing up !!!
