It is raining today...... Not a good hunting day.... There is still about 70 acres of corn that needs to be harvested... BUT it is RAINING !!!!! We really need it around here. The lakes around here are the lowest I have ever seen them. Big Cracks in the ground out in the yard and fields....
I guess I would complain even if they hung me with a new rope !!! 🙃
Are you all living in the drought areas getting any relief ??

This is our second season of tooooo much rain. Pouring now.

Last year we were classified moderate to severe drought and this year we are a bit above normal for moisture. I guess that is what they refer to as average rainfall - one year down, next year up. The guy that rents our field still has soybeans to harvest but every time it dries out a bit we get more rain. North and west of us in @Brookwood 's neck of the woods they are listed as moderately dry but that area was supposed to get 2-3 inches of rain early this week so I hope it helped. Bob
Here in the desert we never complain about rain. We never have anything to complain about.
Well I am not really complaining.... The field will dry out and the deer will still be in the woods waiting for me on another day !😁
7/10's of an inch so far today... More coming !
@William81 .7 is a very good rain here, mostly is like .05. Once got over 2 inches in one day, the next day the patio was dry and so was the ground.
I've had some of my best hunting success in the rain.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Well, last winter, the mountains received 900 inches (75 feet!) of snow so the spring/summer runoff did well the refill the reservoirs.
Same here, but the 30 mph winds makes hunting with the crossbow a little more iffy..... If it were a calmer day, I would have likely been out there..
I like singing in the rain.
Grasshopper Kelly?
Sure hope it dries up enough to make harvest. Best wishes.
0.2" just south of the MO/IA state line. All it did was make the soybeans too tough to cut and make any bare dirt stick to boot soles. Had another trace just before dark.
Stock ponds still WAY below acceptable going into winter. Some cattle operations may run out of water before spring.
Any new waterlines buried this summer will be in danger if the winter is normal or colder.
It's been dry here for quite some time. North and east of us have had lots of rain. The river and creeks here are very low. I think when it starts, we'll have a very wet time of it.
We've had enough rain to keep water in the streams. 2 or 3 days of drizzle a month. An organization I belong to stocks trout about this time each year. Well not this year. There's hardly enough water to have a flow. Mostly just standing puddles.
Here I was thinking this was about Natalie Imbruglia. I wonder what happened with her? Last time I saw her was in "Johnny English".
