Bald Eagle..... It was a large one so I am pretty sure it is a Male. We have several in the area. They often roost in trees on our place and watch the lake across the road.. There is a nest over near the lake also.
That's the female. They are much larger than the male.

We have had an abundance of Eagles the last few years. We also have a nesting pair, within a block or two of our place. I see them regularly. I didn't not know that the female was larger than the male. They really made a comeback to South Jersey. We have right around 250 nesting pairs in ou area, according to Fish and Wildlife. I never even saw one, until about ten years ago here.
They are definitely on the come back... We saw a Golden Eagle once in awhile... But not to long ago 3 flew over my head that just had got there white heads.

I too did not realize the female is larger.
Down in southern California there is a eagle cam in the Big Bear Valley... It's wonderful

We see them frequently on our place and at a couple lakes where I fish...

I have a nesting pair not far from one of deer hunting properties.
I have a juvenile that has been hanging around one of my stands the last couple of sits.
I tend to watch him more than for deer.
With the elimination of DDT they have made a really big come back. I check under their nests on a regular basis during the summers and you would be amazed at the number of small deer remains laying there!
There is one at our zoo. Injured somewhere in his/her life and can’t fly. Anyway I as amazed at how really big Bald Eagle are. I mean huge.
Golden's are even bigger.

I did not know that.. I thought Goldens and Bald Eagle grew to roughly the same size..
