Here's the top 25 guns sold on Gunbroker in October. All but 2 were transferable machine guns.

What in the world are you going to do with a belt fed 50 bmg, besides hunt squirrels. Besides that, who can afford to buy the ammo, except a multimillionaire. If you buy that gun, you also have to buy a half track to go with it.
Not really and I've probably shot one more than the average bear for it's intended use, flip the selector and it's just a ammo waster like many other full auto's. It's a high priced toy to some that want the feeling of power in their hands. I'll just pick one up when it's dropped on the ground by the previous user, not buying 😊. Just my personal opinion, not trying to kill GB's sales.

I hope with all the SCOTUS latest pro 2nd judgements the machine gun and the whole nfa comes up and gets slaped back down to any one no specail restrictions needed
It would be fantastic if the NFA laws get tossed out
granted the few who have a 20 to 100k plus full auto weapons will be ticked off if tomorrow its worth 600.00 same as a semi auto version. but the needs of the many out weigh the pocket book of the few
they ( nfa laws ) really make no sense they were put in place in the 1930's to keep the bad guys and gals from getting one up to that point you could go to the hardware store buy a Thompson or what ever flavor FA you wanted
all they do is create a toy box for the well off and by magic just pay the tax stamp and summit your life history and magically that Evel full auto becomes harmless and legal for anyone to have as long as your not a felon and any one can buy as long as they have the 20k plus of course due to demand vs supply.
sad part most cases it a 5. or 10. dollar part that makes a 600.00 AR into a 20k rifle

like the recent pistol brace fiasco the brace doens nothing to make a pistol more dangerous at most maybe a bit more stable platform allowing a better shot to dispatch game with inplae of wounding it to die a slow painful death
While I agree with most of what you say Ditch-Runner I want to clarify a few things for everyone regarding NFA stuff.
The reason "Transferable" machine guns are so expensive is that if the machine gun wasn't registered before July of 1986 the are not transferable, meaning the general public can't own it. I always say what would it do to the price of cars in 40 years if they made a law that no cars made after 1986 could be owned by the public after 1986? What would a 1985 ford pickup be worth in 2023?
Also the $200 tax stamp was set as a deterrent way back in 1934, running an inflation calculator $200 in 1934 is like $4600 today, so yes, the nominal $200 really isn't anything today but back then it was a lot of money.
I don't see this or any future administration getting rid of the NFA laws. We were close to getting Silencers removed via the Hearing Protection Act which was going up congress to be voted on but was immediately scuttled after the Vegas shootings.
But...why? What is so special about that lower?
no matter the reason its a law that favors the wealthy and should be struck down for that reason alone
how many average working class can buy a 20K to 100K + for a gun due to the no longer allowed to be made and registered total horse hocky rules
also all the people who were way to young to buy a FA and most were not even born in 1986
I do hope it gets challenged and the SCOTUS follows the 2nd shall not be infringed
and they use common sense to understand its unfair
