Ammo shortages coming....according to my retail friends

They've been warned to stock up on everything they can because a huge government contract is in the works for LOTS of ammunition. So, since that has a priority over retail sales the shelves are almost guaranteed to be empty in the upcoming year. Just letting you guys know the latest "doom and gloom" rumor.

Guys are buying a lot of guns that they can look at because it costs too much to shoot them if they could get ammo. The good old .22 will get very popular.
those people who havent got it togeher after the last15 years deserves to be out in the cold.everybody has had years to fix this .we all knew it was coming
Our shelves have never refilled from the first shortage,,,
Plus the prices are going up! Due to bidenomics....aka inflation and all that jaz.
The major ammo makers have hugh contract with the government for ammo. Winchester is supposed to be not taking orders until 2027. Same with a few other companies. I know 223/5.56 is going crazy on prices. My partner in the business sells ammo an its a constant increase in those calibres. Some times daily. Other stuff is staying steady for use. Some of the hunting ammo is not avaible but others are abundant.
More ammo never hurts, not for a good price anyway. Unfortunately, i dont see any good prices. ☹️
There is a public range not too far from me and there is someone shooting from dawn to dusk. Where in the Sam Hill do they get the money and the ammo to rattle them off all day long?
To much imports still coming in,, old addage if the wherehouse gets full then the sales start ,got to move product but we will see
???
Picked up a 25-20 last week. Guy couldn't find ammo or could not afford to buy what he did find.
So does this mean boots on the ground in Iraq (how many times is that?) or are they arming up to keep joe in office? Civil War 2?
They are selling to other countries for their wars, or donating ammo. Then the US govt is pressuring them to not sell to private citizens. Its all designed to make the dumb o craps gun free America come true. They have figured out that they cannot outlaw firearms, so ammo is an easy target (easier than firearms anyways).
They will never get rid of guns or ammo, but they will make it where only the rich and powerful can afford to buy more. And in that process, they WILL start another civil war....followed quickly by WW3. That, in IMHO, is the commies plan. Sad days for America!
Just sayin'
You can add the IRS to your list, we've got to outfit them with some Glocks too 🤬.

Well I took the advice and stocked up on .22 which I didnt need yet and cant reload, but it should not in my lifetime be worth much less than I paid for it.
32-20 is just as bad $59 for a 50 round box, if I didn't reload it would be a safe queen.
Like comedian Chris Rock said years ago, if ammo cost $5000 a round, brothers (blacks) couldn't afford to kill each other. Who wants to sell their car or house just to shoot someone they don't like?
I have learned that there is ALWAYS another panic ordeal around the corner. I'm constantly telling myself "if I could go back in time I'd stock up on this or that and make a killing"....but I never stock up on anything. I get my hands on something and I sell it before Larry knows I have it....that is my one and only goal. That man would keep everything if it were up to him.
mike55 - They're sending ammo to Ukraine? I thought they were using the Russian/Eastern Bloc standard.
Junkballer - They're still arming up IRS agents? I suppose they have to be armed to come collect the taxes since some smart folks used the covid free money to arm up.
Locust Fork - You're supposed to make money being in the "business".
My local gun shop says no one reloads ammo anymore. Their buying up estates and selling the reloading equipment and supplies cheap. I’ve been buying so much of it I’m running out of room.
It is true in my area. When the cost of powder, primers & shot or bullets went thru the roof, I sold all of my reloading gear. I have so much loaded ammo, I will never shoot it all in my lifetime.
