Fuddruckers was real?

I was bouncing around youtube when I came across this

I thought it was a made up place in the movie "Idiocracy". Is that why Starbuck's is so popular? Giving handies. Man I need to go to Starbucks.

Many years ago I don't recall if we we went in to eat I think we did

But I remember the place I know it was in a southern state maybe south Carolina of Florida

The name caught our attention and I never forgot that part of it lol

We used to go there on occasion if we were near one. I always enjoyed it. You could pick your meat and the size of the burger, and then add the fixin’s from the bar to make it however you wanted. If I recall, you could get the burger up to 2 lbs. I always got the Ostrich burger, and it was great.

Yup. Been to several and we had one near us here in Utah. The concept was great; you could never complain that you didn't get a burger "your way".

    I may be a bit crazy - but I didn't drive myself.

    Me too.......!😋

First time was in the mid-80's, while visiting relatives in Austin, Texas. At the time I was working for a contractor at Fort Hood, in an old nuclear assembly building close to Gray Army Airfield.

After finally making it back to Wichita County........they opened a Fuddruckers here.

    It lasted about 5 years......

Had one near me. Went there off and on. Then it closed. Around here now you could not get enough people off the government dole to work at one as is the case of everyplace around here.

Yes it is. Been there a few times in the past.

    And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
    While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche

used to have 3-4 in town, remember the works bar?? they started it just a year or so before they closed. It was like a big salad bar of toppings for your hamburger, I watched people pile on 2-3 inches of lettuce and tomatoes on a 89 cent burger, no wonder they went out of business.........

Was popular in the Dallas area in the 90's for lunch among the blue collar crowd, lot of grub, for a decent price.

When I worked in the big city, there was this place that sold "Monster Burgers". I did a few up until I got food poisoning!

I ate at the one in Myrtle Beach SC a few times and it was a pretty good burger. I like being able to put my toppings on myself and the desserts were also pretty good

I believe there is still a Fuddruckers in Branson. I've never been to it as there is a really good Thai restaurant right next to it.

Given the choice, I'll take Thai over expensive burgers.
