bird feeder thread............
got me thinking, I haven't seen any at my feeder last few days, so I grabbed the bird feed and headed up the yard to fill it. Only thing was it was still half full, only the bird seed had frozen on the bottom and it wouldn't come out the small holes into the bottom pan. tried to take it apart and found out the seed had frozen into one solid round block!!!!! broke the connection from the bottom to the web mesh sides trying to get it apart. well its sitting on the workbench in the garage waiting to thaw out before I go to "engineering" on it so I don't have to buy a new one. This one was a christmas present, I didn't like the way it opened but it was a gift so figured I would give it a try. In a day or so guess I will try to "fix" it once it and I thaw out........

I hang mine under the soffit so it doesn't get wet.
Same here, next to the back window we call it kitty TV.
My wife hangs her bird feeders under the soffit on the screen porch and the bears pull them down several times a year.
We have not seen any birds for a couple weeks
For a while seemed like every bird in the county were here eating then they just vanished
I am guessing they moved to a woods about a mile away due to weather a lot of crop fields to forage close by
The wife still puts feed out for them We don't mow about 2 acres just so the wild flowers grow up for the insects qnd birds a
but no takers in the bird seed maybe due to the temature is below zero right now?
Unusual but we will see
Our local skunks not tamebut acustom to us have been hiding away also conserving energy
