I'm Declaring It Now - Skunk Weed is the New B.O. (Body Odor) and UNACCEPTABLE!
We, as a civilized society, have all come to an agreement that regular bathing and deodorant is how we operate, smelling horrible is a no-go. Now, with legal weed, or semi-legal weed depending on your zip code, these skunk weed people have me gasping for air like a carp on a levee. Unacceptable! Just like ripping flatulence in public and polluting the space, this is also frowned upon. Sometimes the smell will stay in the aisle of store, the smell is often blown in the door with the wind, ahead of stinky, before stinky gets there.
Sure, I've cranked up the Doobie Brothers way back when the pterodactyls soared in the sky, but this current situation is out of hand. Nobody should be mingling with the peoples smelling like a black & white striped roadkill.
I like to start a national PSA campaign (Public Service Announcement) that stinky is not cool. "Eliminate the Stank 2024". I should start a gofund me. "Stank is Rank" maybe.
Old guy rant over, for now.

I don't care if people smoke in their own home or any place private. But you can't go anywhere in Rochester and not smell skunk weed. Driving high is a problem.
Never heard of skunk weed but we do have skunk cabbage also known as indian toilet paper.
You are barking at the moon. Politicians only see the dollar signs another tax. To hell with your safety let them drive high.
Flatulence? Thanks for giving me a new word for the day. We always just referred to it as farting, or passing gas. Lol. I will say that I have smelled pot on people a lot more when in the stores since they legalized it in are state.
Skunks have feelings too. Can we instead call it Stink Weed or Stank Weed?
just tell em they stink!! wife hates it but anymore I ain't shy, I will tell someone they need a bath especially if I can smell them from 5-10 feet away.........
Just eat a gummy and relax.
I used to be in favor of legalization, but I am having second thoughts. Seven years ago, I hired a 32 year old guy to assist me in building my log cabin. There is some simple math involved in figuring how to cut the dovetail notches. Like, subtract 4 5/8 from 10 inches. Adam just couldn't do it. He told me that, when he was just 15, he and 2 buddies skipped school 3 days a week, and drove around smoking pot. Adam said it had damaged his brain. He was an astute and alert carpenter and always showed up for work on time. Great employee, but by his own reckoning, brain damaged from pot.
A month ago I saw a report on the news, an ER doc in Phoenix said that they had 38 admissions in the past months, 16 year old teen age kids who had entered into a psychotic episode, due to smoking pot.
Maybe this stuff isn't as harmless as I had thought.
I always maintained it was far from harmless. Too many of the folks I went to high school with in the early 70s were hooked on it . Some progressed to something stronger and most eventually quit. For a number of them it became a lifelong affliction. I their 30s they had all the ambition and know-how a 14 year old .By their 40s they were total burned out husks .
When much younger 40+ years ago
We did burn up some and thought why it was not legal at the time and cound not wait until it was
we had better control of our self and a lot less violent than when drinking no hang overs no throwing up no beer muscles when smoking pot , skunk weed , left hand cigarettes, and many more names it was just more mellow kick back and relax
the only time it Relly messed with us 😜 we pickup a hitch hiker he told us he had mixed it with something else ( this was about 1975 or so ) we said no problem the 45 minute trip we smoked quit a bit and it knocked us on our butts one time and that time only
I agree It's smell you never forget
And rock concerts all you could smell
But so many people fail to bath for lots of reasons Walmart is a prime example so I can't say it's all pots fault
Ok to be fair
I think it impaired my spelling just look at my post
Last minute thoughts the group I knew who used pot none went on to harder drugs or were hooked on it all just stoped when they wanted to
but of course some people abuse everything
Sadly I knew many that drinking ruled their life cause manages jobs and life's in the end
not counting the cigarette smokers who could not break that habit and cance got them all
JMHO
Smoking cigarettes and drinking alcohol are way more addictive and do way more harm than pot
I have no desire for it any more
its been 46 yrs ago fore but I agree tax revenue drove most all states making it legal Big brother loves tax money
Since I've lost about 90% of my sense of smell/taste, this is not a problem for me. I do feel 'offended' by those who resemble "PigPen' from the 'Peanuts'(?) comic strip. I very seldom go to town wearing dirty or offensive clothes unless there's a dire emergency. Working folks may get a bit gamey on a hot day but that's acceptable. Those who live like pigs and take it with them everywhere have no social consideration and probably should be shunned in public. Or, as Jeff Foxworthy would say: "Make 'em wear a sign" (indicating their A-hole status).
Another story about the bad side of pot. I went to high school with Charlie. He was the most popular kid in the school, six foot one, blonde, starting football player. Smart, too. He got accepted to Ga. Tech.
Our class graduated in 1968. There was no pot around in suburban Atlanta in that year.
In about 1970, Charlie started smoking pot. It got good to him. He spent the next 50 years living in Mom's basement, waking up at 11 am and having a joint for breakfast, and listening to Rolling Stones records.
Charlie had so much potential and he threw his life away on that reefer. I still scratch my head thinking of the sad story of Charlie.
I use to grow a little bit of Burley tobacco, allotment came with the property. Been 30 years plus ago. Quit growing it for more than one reason but having a bad feeling growing something that is as harmful as tobacco use left a bad taste in my mouth. I never had a use for it, chawing, smoking, or dipping.
I said then the goberment would eventually outlaw tobacco and legalize pot. Folks we are almost there.
Note, never used any sort of left handed cigs. Nor any other illegal drugs for that matter.
I reality I have seen more people ruin their lives drinking alcohol than I have seen that just smoked some marijuana occasionally. All my life I heard the rhetoric marijuana leads to harder drugs, well with that frame of thought then, drinking beer leads to drinking hard liquor and hard liquor leads to doing drugs. As far as people not being able to do anything when stoned, I’ve known some people that couldn’t even tie their shoes because they were passed out drunk. And as far as smell, I hate it when someone that has been drinking gets in your face and you can smell it on their breath, it stinks.
There will always be people that drink, smoke and stink. As long as you can control the drug and the drug doesn’t control you, I see nothing wrong with the person using liquor or marijuana, just not together.
I deal with that smell every weekend. It seams like some one will sit down to buy a firearm an reek with the smell of that ugly smoke. Weather its from the person they are with or its themself s. Yes being a FFL deal i have the right to refuse the sale. But how due you confront the person. Which one is it?? Is it the person buying the gun or there friend. Now if they answer that question of do you smoke. then I dont sell. An if i run a back ground check an they have a medical card an didnt tell me. They get denied. So I charge them a denial fee, an they can not buy a gun. But so many people walk thru the crowd smelling like weed. That even at some gunshows the police follow them to there car an do a search to arrest them
In my working career I was a mental health tech in a mental hospital. As patients would improve we would transition them into weekend home visits to begin the discharge process . Pot does not play well with mental illness ,especially when mixed with high power anti- psychotic drugs
For those of you thinking back to your misspent youth in the 60s-70s, just a note-
That ditchweed you were toking bears little resemblance to the weed of today. Todays weed has levels of THC that were only dreamt of in your day. 50 years of selective breeding of plants has done that,
And it shows.
only makes sense as its been 45 yrs since I smoked any I still know of a few who do but not when I am around.
their spouses say if they don't allow it then their difficult to live with and become very moody.
I will admit curiosity some times comes knocking about trying it again
as I Rember how relaxed it made me and as a pain reliver
but there is no way I could start doing it again looking at the relation ships those people have
I will just stick to my 1 or 2 beers a month ( honest I never liked the after tase of alcohol and call it good 😁

Quite true. I have pretty much stayed away from the stuff for decades.
However, last year a buddy of mine came down from Texas for a party at my house, and he brought down a few cigarettes of Colorado Legal stuff. We were sitting down out on the porch. I had three puffs and I could barely stand up. Five times stronger that the stuff from the seventies.
