All, sorry I have not posted about Willie Jr. i am worried sick about him. I went to visit him last night around 6PM and held him for a good half hour. They said his numbers got better yesterday and he might be able to come home today. Today it was a no go when they called around 9:30 AM. They are hoping tomorrow will be better. His numbers went back up today some and they are concerned about his kidneys. They don't want to send him home unless he can do ok on his own without the IV. I will go to visit him again tonight. Thank you all for your concern and prayers. ---------------------------------Ray

we are still in yours and willies corner praying for the best
Prayers continue from our house.
Said a prayer for both Ray and little Willie Jr this morning.
Update 1/17/24 ------- Doctor just called. They called Poison Control Center and they said even though his numbers were basically same as yesterday that I could bring Willie Jr. home today. Yippie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have to take him back tomorrow for his blood to be tested again. Their concern is his kidneys.
Roads were terrible last night when I went to visit Willie Jr. at 6PM. I would have driven thru Hell to see Willie Jr. First time I have used 4High on my truck. i usually wait to roads are clear before driving. At least I know now that 4WD works.
Again, thanks for all your prayers. God is Good. -------------------------------Ray

You always seem to have to teach yourself something new in the middle of bad weather.

1/19/24 Vet Hospital called mid-morning. Willie Jr's bun number (Kidneys) is 19. Normal range is 7-25. Praise God and all your prayers.
On the 12th he was under Kit table and i was not aware. He pounced on one 200mg Ibuprofen tablet, bit down and swallowed it the second it hit the floor. I was totally ignorant of the fact that it is very toxic and can be deadly especially to a small dog even at 25mg.
Perhaps one of our members that is more computer literate than me can provide a link to a good web site that describes this nightmare.
If this should ever happen to you, you need to make contact with your Vet or Vet Hospital. First get a case number from the Poison Control Center and move out. DO NOT WASTE ONE SECOND !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If i can find more time i will try to contribute to a link.
I tried out patient for one day. That was a disaster and Willie Jr. was admitted and on continuous IV for four days. Right now, I am physically and mentally exhausted. For the rest of my life i will give Willie Jr. all the love that my heart is capable of. ---------------------------Ray
Great update. Keep a number within the normal range, Willie Jr.
A tip that may or not be helpful. We take our meds over the kitchen sink, or over top of a thick bath towel. If a pill is dropped it don't bounce off counter top and hit the floor anyway, stays on the towell or in the sink.
I suppose there is a reason but no where on the bottle does it say "Not for pet/dog/animal consumption". i wonder why? It does say keep out of reach of children. There are actually some people who give the ibuprofen to a pet for fever/pain. Total Vet Hospital bill thru yesterday just a tad over $3,000. What a horrible nightmare this has been.-------Ray
As bad as it was and as expensive as it was .................................. You've got Willie and he's priceless so you got your moneys worth.
Thank God Willie pulled through .................... I love a happy ending.
I couldn't have said it better than bullshot. I will add. Don't get yourself down because of your exhaustion Ray. Willie Jr. needs you hittin' on all cylinders.
Great to hear his numbers are back to being good! Just relax and enjoy some rest with willie on your lap.
A great outcome, Ray! You have had enough bad luck. You were certainly due for a break.
Thanks to all my friends on the Forum for your prayers. ---------------Willie Jr.
Willie Jr. never gets tired of playing. Ken down in his Hollow in Tn. called to check on me and Willie Jr. Two feet snow still on the ground down there. We have about six inches left. A picture of Willie Jr. below. ----------------------Ray
WJ is getting cuter every day Ray ❤️
