Bought the double barrel today are barrels safe for modern shells serial#84338 not the best but couldn’t pass for 300 dollars barrels measure 25 1/16 th do not appear to have been cut

My sources show it was made around 1920. I would definitely have the chambers measured because they may be only 2.5". Shooting a normal 2.75" shell definitely is not recommended! Bob
Thanks bob
A 2 3/4 or a 3 inch drop right in and chambers look deep
Don't forget that you should be worried about the length of a fired shell not a crimped one. If the crimp can't open flush with the chamber when the shell is fired, pressures will rise quite a bit. Bob
GET it chambered before you do anything and NOT a 3" shell, be safe!
Thanks guys I will before I shoot it
Is 25 1/16 inch a correct barrel length
Barrels were offered in 26, 28 and 30 inches unless special ordered.
