Regard the Uvalde School Shooting. I believe it was a Texas Politician. "We need to eliminate these Assault Rifles so the police are not afraid to do their job". I thought police are trained to advance towards shooting in a situation like this in spite of any fear that they may have.
After all was it not John Wayne who said "Courage is being afraid but saddling up to ride anyway"? Lord help us. Just my two cents.------------------------Ray

the left and the antigun groups play on fear and every possible angle to scare the sheeple and do a fine job of it and even though the scary black rifles are way less than 1% of homicides they use them as the poster child
if the main stream media would just show every day XXX amount of citizens saved there live or a family by using a gun and be honest the few shootings by bad people would not even be in the same leagues.
I always remember " fear the government who fear the people " and its more true than ever
they know way too many gun owners if pushed hard enough it would not go well so take away the guns pick off a few at time single out as the most hated by them like the semi auto any thing and move down the list
so many in our government dream of being like China or north Korea and would love to have total fear and control of the people
Very soon after the Columbine High School shooting here in Colorado, all LEOs were required to take "Active Shooter Training." It turned the former standard procedure upside down. Gone was the old "call for backups," "establish a perimeter," and "wait for instruction" standards. The new standard was for the first responding officer to wait for no more than 3 backups before initiating action. We entered the building in a tight formation with the first LEO carrying a shotgun, behind him 2 others watched the sides, and the rear officer walked backward in case something popped up after we passed. We never cleared rooms as we went, and proceeded quickly directly toward the sound of gunfire. When the POS was found, we fanned out, and if he was still active all of us participated in taking him out.
That worked great, but I don't think it is being taught anymore. Things seem to have reverted to the old ways.
I think if the police are afraid to do their job, we need different police.
My wife worked for a small department and they didn't have the luxury of people. They trained to go in with what they had, head straight for the threat, and take it out.
Thank God she never had to pull that bit of training out and put it to use.
What a lot of nonsense.... Police afraid do there job.....

Over the past several years , law enforcement has partnered with local firedepts to train on this . We,fire dept, team with LEO to enter , find victims and extricate them.while shooter is active . Thankfully we haven't had to put training to use . Our sheriff has told us ,"officially I can't tell you to carry a gun with you when you go in " . Said with a wink and a nod .
Where my wife worked they had a few paramedics that trained with the regional SWAT team and would go in armed with pistols behind whatever team had made the initial entry.
JMHO
when they capatue a shooter live which should never happen DRT would be best
Never call them by name at any point don't allow them any air time no meda out let post any photo or their name take away their 10 minutes of fame .
Most want fame and knowing Their name will be remembered is a driving force along with mental illness
With in one week hold public hanging and televised with the cowards head covered with a hood
So no one but the legal team and executioner have see him no good by to any family or friends
Place a sign on the gallows this could be you .The cowad who shot xxx last week.
Pull the handle let them swing take the body to a remote site or deep lake , dig a hole cover them up in a unmarked grave or toss them in weighted down in the case of using the lake
Let them Die totally unknown and alone
And as warning to others
You're completely correct. Sensationalizing these ******* is part of the problem.
The ignorant masses love a good peep-show and the more horrific or offensive the better. The media doesn't care about the fallout as long as they get clicks or more people wide-eyed and drooling at the tragedies they're showing.
Eliminate the opportunity for a shooter to get his name in lights and you take a huge step forward. Set the precedent that step 1 is to eliminate the shooter with great prejudice and you empower the people and law enforcement to act in the best interests of the community and the country.
But what do I know? I'm just a guy who believes in accountability, justice, and governance from the bottom up.

Great points !
Don't even name the scumbag, just show a picture of a steaming pile as reference.
Let the hangman who did Soddam Insane do it. I remember he popped off his head! A movie of the execution on all media outlets would then be in order.
