EV and winter

Apparently there is a disaster in Chicago. Evs will not move and they can not be charged because of the weather. I am sure the same thing is true in the west and north.
Comments
can't be, they are the cure to global warming and the future of the world...........
Maybe someone needs to start selling jumper cables in Chicago, the EV buyers were gullible before so why not now. 😀

maybe they can sell a portable generator that fits in the passenger seat to make enough electric to get the car around, should put off enough heat to keep warm also.........
I feel their pain. 😉
In the words of the aviator Wilbur Wright, she ain’t gonna fly Orville.
Another failure brought to you by the build back better mob, or as I like to refer to them, the Triple B radicals militants democrats.
Just minor inconvenience,buy one now
I reckon a fella could pick one up pretty cheap right about now!
The worm is turning. Ford has announced it is stopping production of it's EVs, and Hertz is selling it's entire fleet of EVs and going back to gas powered, why? Because car renters don't want them.
They are stacked up in Chicago, so there may be nothing left when the locals get done picking them apart.
Just sayin'
Where you going to sell the chopped parts at?
"We got a bunch of dead robots out here."
Who knows, but the tires are very valuable and fit other vehicles. They may steal everything, except the dead batteries and sell to the florida yankees. 😁
Apparently those batteries will NOT even take a charge if the battery temp is below 32f. Those stuck in Chicago may not get charged till summer. LOL.
I suppose, if you could get to you car in the maze of dead cars, then you could pay big money to have it hauled home. MAYBE you have an enclosed garage and you could charge it. Wouldn't be able to leave it out in the cold very long tho, or be in the same situation again.
The return core charge on the batteries may be worth more than the parts.

Go green
Go Joe
Sorry I missed your thread patt. However, I can't delete mine.
I merged them together @allen griggs
One of Brandons campaign promises is coming true.
Can not believe Joe has turned GLOBAL warming around so fast here in Oklahoma. (and I thought his promise was just another lie and now I really feel bad that I doubted Brandon and his supporters)
Last few days the weather (global warming) been setting (shattering) cold temperature records.
Brandon needs to get to Oklahoma and do some campaigning right now about him and Al Gore reducing global warming , but do not try to get here in a EV.
maybe they can sell a non-fossil fuel portable generator that gets it's electric from a non-fossil fuel wind mill or solar panel.
Go Brandon and Ford motor company.
Ford had another bright idea. (listening to Brandon)
Yesterday I spotted a full load of crushed auto's on a semi flat bed going to the recyclers and said to my Grandson, " There goes a load of those Telsa's ", he spit whatever he was drinking thru his nose onto my windshield laughing. 🤪

News media sure not speaking very much about this.
Dang right they aren't!!
I'd imagine there's many an EV fool.......sitting in their little dead go-cart, while freezing their butts off, during a 4 to 5 hour charge that's NOT happening. 🥶🥶🤣
I'll bet they are wishing Obi-Wan would show up.........and quickly teach them how to use "The Force".........to move their dead batteried roller skate.
Obi-Wan would probably tell them to add a trailer hitch.........to haul around the diesel generator they'll be buying ASAP!!🥶😱🤣
I am sure Biden and Al G. are smiling.
pushing you car around sure saves the environment and provides exercise.
I have seen so many EV fires out of control posted on you tube by many people in many country's but our main stream Meada refuses to show it
propaganda at its finest
I am sure they have their place living in town short trips and so on
but the science is still behind on making them safe, affordable, and longevity 15k or so to change a battery pack sure sign me up NOT😁
like always any thing the government gets involved with turns to "horse hockey"
Electrics enjoyed a spate of popularity in the early days of automobiles . Then ,as now, battery limitations caused them to fall out of use . Someday the battery limitations will be overcome and they MAY become more practical for more folks .Till then nothing beats good old internal combustion.
15k for a battery pack? That might work in a hybrid but not a total EV. Most are 30k and up for total EV battery replacement!
Just sayin'
I saw that and loved the robot quote.
Seen a guy on news this evening setting in snow in his dead and cold EV and been at charging station for few hours and battery not charging and wife in with him wrapped in a blanket and the he told the news man, "I'm back to getting a gasoline vehicle immediately"
His wife started laughing at him. Appeared she was saying or indicating, what a dummy you are for this one, I told you so.
I suspect that he probably voted for Brandon and she voted otherwise, but again I know for a fact that lots of people now days will not admit they actually voted for Brandon. At least they are trying to show little bit of common sense being ashamed of themselves. Takes quite a bit of pain to wake up some people.
I'll switch from gas and diesel when they come out with the ones that run on dilithium crystals.
They didn't vote for Biden. They voted against the bad orange man and his mean Tweets.
I saw ketchup johnny on TV today saying that all the news footage in Chicago with the dead EV parking lot is B.S. Just another Brandon staff member.
How are the Vikings dealing with the cold and ev? Didn't they go all California by going EV before 2035. Do they have battery warmers? Or if the car don't run they stay home? That'll be like 6 months of the year. Then again they're socialists.
Mayor Pete will soon come out with a plan to provide climate controlled charging stations.
It about the end result, not the cost.
Not even the environmental cost.

If car lithiums are anything like boat lithiums, the battery has a temp sensor that prohibits charging if the ambient is below 32F. That's to avoid battery damage. Such a thing might be in the owner's manual, but I bet they avoid telling you that when you buy an EV in the northern states.
It does, however, make the car essentially a disposable.
Looks like they need heated Charging Buildings for those things.
Or maybe they could have " Charging Hostels ", where the idealistic owners could lounge about overnight while their rig charges in the necessary heated building.
Just push forward with this madness at any cost.
Probably the same idiots who do not have a home gas station.

Time to revisit Merle Haggard's song, "Rainbow Stew".
When they find out how to burn water
And the gasoline car is gone
When an airplane flies without any fuel
And the sunlight heats our home
But one of these days when the air clears up
And the sun comes shinin' through
We'll all be drinkin' that free Bubble Up
And eatin' that rainbow stew
Easy fix. Just put a coal fired potbellied stove in the car to keep the battery warm.
🔥🔥🔥
I thought and thought and thought. All I can think of to say is "God bless the internal combustion engine". -----------------------------------Ray
Waiting for green Kryptonite myself.
"The Force" has them both beat......any day of the week.....and twice on Sundays!!😇😉
