Smallest vessel in the USN fleet!

And the purpose of the Boomin' Beaver is?????????
I believe it deploys anti-sub fencing around carriers and other larger combat vessels.
They were originally made to raft and herd logs.
^^^ This. The little dingie thingie can move in any direction and has a surprising amount of push as long as it doesn't flip upside down in the process.
Yes - I read they also called them "log-broncs" cuz when they throttle them up the a@@ end squats and the bow rears up like a horse.
Yeah the weeble wobble of a tub. I wonder if they're in civilian hands? It'll make a cool Dory that one can fish from.
AKA boom boats and dozer boats.
I worked in a log yard in SE Alaska for 3 months when I was a kid (19ish) and there were a couple of those little boats in use there. Logs would come in on oversize log trucks and get laid out in decks. Once the knots were bumped off and they were bucked to length (my job) then they were sorted by species and bundled into groups of 10 or so logs. The bundles were then put into the water and formed into large rafts which were then towed out to a Japanese ship and loaded onboard for the trip across the Pacific.
Apparently the do get auctioned from time to time.

$80K !?!? and it's too small to live in but they do look easy to drop off at the boat launch? Did some looking and I found out they were made in 2002 in Longview, WA. I thought them being older than just 20 years old. Must be the Navy version is 20 years old?
Some dude named Chuck makes them - Chuck's Boat Works, or sumpin' like that...
Lucky4597 - Saw that on Wiki.
Is it wrong that I want to take one bass fishing?
I just wanna sit and spin in circles until I puke.
But if you bought one - wouldn't you then need a companion scale model yellow rubber duck about the same size?🦆
Well yeah, that too.🤣
Something similar on local fake book market place, called a round-a-bout.
Sea sick for sure!
Every time I see the title of this post I think gee, that ought to be the name of a tavern somewhere.
I say a strip club in Oregon and definitely in Canada.
I'd sooner take a good looking woman who likes to fish.
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
