I bought a JD X320 mower in 2015. It has issues off and on but was a decent mower until a couple mowing seasons back. This year I got it out and going. Mowed once, sprayed the yard and had starting issues in the middle of the process. Got that figured out, but in the middle of the 2nd mowing, the deck stopped turning and while trying to fix it, it would not start……………
Life is too short to be angry every time I mow….Picked out a new one, they gave me more than I wanted in trade so it was a no brainer…..

My Husqvarna 24 horse tractor bought new in 2018 has been giving me trouble of one kind or another every season since purchased. It currently is in the shop with belt issues awaiting for parts.
I have heard that parts for gas powered Husky's are in short supply due to the companies current production of battery powered equipment taking center stage of Wokeness!😫
My last garden tractor was a Simplicity 16 horse model which lasted a bit over 20 years of service. It would run circles around that new Huska 24. I will not buy another of that brand. Unfortunately, I was told that Simplicity is no longer being manufactured.
I really like your new JD Zero turn Frank! If I didn't have to mow steep hills at my place, I'd be considering one!

I had a John Deere GT 235 for almost 20 years, it was a good dependable mower. Four years ago it started having the nickel & dime fever so I got an another John Deere. I bought another JD X570, does just as good, but, they sure have replaced a lot of features I liked better on the older model. Thought about getting a zero turn at the time, but decided to stay with the tractor model. Wife does the mowing so saving time wasn’t a big concern, she loves spending time on the mower. Lol.
I have 3 riders, two Huskys and one John Deere. You pay a lot for the paint and name for the Deere and the Huskeys cut just as well.
From a L120 to a X390. Nothing runs like a Deere!
Added the switches for my sprayer and fert spreader. Plus the bypass for the silly safety stuff.

I have gone electric, with the Kobalt 80V from Lowes. Great lawn mower.
Yesterday saw a battery powered lawn tractor in HD sitting center stage. It was a monster with huge cut around $6,000+. discounted $500. I won't mention name for fear of being sued. ( A well known tool mfg) Still no takers even with $500 off already sale price. Hmmm I wonder why? ————————-Ray
That X320 is not a bad mower. It has the better Transmission
Tuff Torq K58 and Kawasaki FH661V gasoline 2-cylinder 675 cc engine. That is a good mid-grade mower. Probably some of the safety BS is what is causing the non-start and the deck electric PTO going bad if it has it on it. Looks like it has been taken care of well.

Honda 5hp push-mower. Small yard and almost perfectly flat. Takes 30 minutes to cut it all.

Just make sure you put the ROPS up and buckle your seat belt before you start it up. ROPS = Rollover protection
ZT mowers are not easy to stop headed down hill, mow around or up hill unless you have a good landing place to turn around in. Wife's flower garden won't slow it down one bit.
We have a 3 acre yard, mostly flat, but lots of flowerbeds and trees…. I figure there will be some collateral damage until I learn to go around things better !!!! 😲
I bought a John Deere 300 new in 1977 (cast iron Kohler single cylinder) and used it until 2015.At that time I was cutting my,my mothers and my sons grass.I took care of the old mower and fixed whatever went wrong.It got to cutting off when it got hot and would start back after it cooled down=bad coil.I was cutting the third yard of the day and it was very hot,in the 90s and the John Deere cut off when I was half finished.Thats it,I am too old and this mower is too old.I left it in the yard and went to the Kabota dealer and told the girl at the counter that I wanted a new zero turn.She said it had been a busy season and they had one zero turn left.I went out back to look at it and was was top of the line,diesel powered.I turned over the price sticker and it was $16,000.All of a sudden the old John Deere 300 wasn't that bad after all.About a month later I bought a Hustler zero turn and sold the old John Deere for almost what I paid for it new.I still have a John Deere 277 all wheel steering that I use where its rough or pull small implements around.
You're right, until you you get into the x500 and x700 series, then there is no comparison. The x300 series uses the same inadequate hydrostatic as the cheaper brand mowers but better engines.
Spartan SRT XD - I have had it for 3 years and no regrets in going from a JD Z445 to it. Took the JD to our weekend place.

Can't believe it is almost ten years old.
I had to go look out in the garage, I have a John Deere E180 rider that looks almost identical to your X300.
It's been a good mower. Currently both front tires are flat from Hawthorn Needles. I bought 2 containers of Tire Slime and am gonna see if that fixes them.
I really need a utility trailer so I can take the riding mower over to the lake house. I've been using an electric self propelled like Allen G's above. It's workout.
