It's that time of the year where I celebrate with my people.

Cinco De Mayo, Cinco De Mayo, Cinco. Cinco. Cinco De Mayo! It's this Sunday if you didn't know. I need to hit up the Mexican Supermarket to see if Modelo dark is on sale.

Story goes the Titanic had a shipment of mayo in it's cargo bay. Thus, sink o de mayo.
I thought we were your people, Yosh?
(Love me some Modelo Negra).
Yeah, what gives?
And fiery auto crashes
Some will die in hot pursuit
While sifting through my ashes
Some will fall in love with life
And drink it from a fountain
That is pouring like an avalanche
Coming down the mountain
Sure y'alls can be my people but you must bring your own Modelo Dark. That reminds me I need to get some Clamato for my red beer.
"YOUR PEOPLE??"
This is the United States of America. We celebrate 'OUR DAY' on July 4. No other holiday is (or should be) equal to that day.
Americans celebrating the victory of the Mexican army over the French at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. We will drink to anything!
Well said! I'll drink to that! 🍺

Come on, you'll drink to anything!
So Yosh has turned into a tall Japanese Mexican? I don't know, sounds dangerous 🥸

Dude I'm in California. It's a country of it's own and it's basically Mexico in my neck of the woods. Besides it's a day for alcoholics.
What you mean turned? More like I've been with a touch of soul brotha.
I had a Cinco De Mayo miracle. At Safeway I stopped by to buy $5 a pound short ribs on sale to make my Teriyaki Cola marinaded short ribs with them. I passed by the liquore/beer isle to see if they had Modelo Dark on sale but Lucky was a dollar cheaper. So I kept on without picking up a case. Walked past the glass locked case to see what they had. Quick glance didn't see anything but as I walked past something caught my eye. Had the time so I took a step back to see what it was. There the round bottle stop of painted gold above the triangle bottle of blue sat. Lapis Tequila!!!
Thought I was seeing things but nope there it was. Pushed the button for the "can I help you" key master to appear (longest two minuets). I asked the good man the price since it wasn't tagged and I followed him to the register since I wasn't gonna let that bottle out of my sight. $99.99 (about $20 less since 2001-ish?). Since I don't know if I'll see another bottle again I bought 2. Got home and I looked at it for a while since I had to run a few errands I didn't want to partake. Got home again I opened it.
The stopper is no longer cork but rubber. Smokier than oak as I remembered. Still smooth sipper. I may have to go and see if they still have the third bottle since I'm about half a bottle into the first. It was a great Cinco De Mayo.
