Caught this nicely colored Rock Bass yesterday. Good day out catching several fish.

what do you use for bait?
II used to catch a bunch of those while fishing for bluegill with small curly tail jigs and size 0 Mepps spinners. Feisty little scrappers and fun to catch on an ultra light spinning combo. Bob
I was using a Zebco Ultralight underspin with a Creme Frisky Frog. Those little Frisky Frogs are only $1.16 at WalMart and they catch fish like crazy. Everything from panfish to decent size bass. When you hook into a 2+ pound bass on that ultralight you really have a good fight.
Funny it looks like a smally head with a body of a crappie.
Some years before my dad passed on
We found well he found a spot on the river after work we had a ball catching rock bass or red eyes as we called them using a soft rubber crawdad maybe by cream lurre company ? ⁹
They loved the bait after the river flooded a few times the honey hole was gone
but for a couple oF years it was a great way to catch rock bass and just share time with dad
The cemetary He is burŕed in is about 300 yards from the river and our rock bass spot when I vist his grave I cani still see the spot we fished
RIP, Dad I sure miss you
Ow….Ow…Ow Ouchy!!! 😲
