Hey! I found this on FB, so it MUST be true! 😁

True factoid: Hummingbirds cannot walk, even a step. Their legs and feet are only good for perching. To move even an inch away, they have to fly there.
Well I learned something today. My wife thinks I'm too old to learn.
Good info Rocky! I, not too long ago learned that Loons also cannot walk on land. They are always either in the air or on the water.
Yeah but they can run really fast on the water!!
It is 8:30 am. It has been non-stop combat this morning, three of them going at it for two hours. This guy has triumphed, and he has been sitting there for the past 10 minutes, just guarding his food supply. The others are now scared to fly up to the feeder.
What a warrior!
While I do not doubt that you have observed this, I never have.
After nearly 2 hours of 3-way combat, I saw this bird perched there. I watched for a minute and didn't see the other birds. In five minutes, I looked out and he was still perched in the same spot, and not drinking nectar. About 4 minutes later I looked out again, he was still in the same spot. I walked out on the porch, and got within 3 feet of the little mite before he flew away. He looked like he was ready to beat me up. A Warrior Bird!
I wasn't running a video cam, but I inferred that he had been perched in the same spot for about ten minutes.
I beg to differ with you. The Anna‘s hummingbird can sing. I have heard it myself. I believe it is the only one that does.
