I usually catch a few moths and toss them in their webs almost every evening….They are fascinating to watch…

Wow. From a distance ok. In my face or on me, no no.
I was about 4" away when I took these shots tonight….
🫨🫨, they can jump that far
William81,
Please advise as to the DSLR camera and lens(s) you shoot.
Thanks
I like spiders. I have read Charlotte's Web.
Yuck.

How cool!
I've got some super tiny spider that has taken up residence on my front door. He/she covers my door handle with tiny webs. I keep forgetting about that. I go through my morning routine, step out on the front porch and feed the stray cat…grab the door to come back in and that is when I remember that spider has been working all evening on that doorknob.
We have one ( of many ) living in the door way going into my pole barn several nights I would forget and walk thur it's just completed web
one evening as I was going in it happened to be doing a drop line and landed on me
I have not seen it last couple nights as they like to stay putIonce they settle in I think it got tired of me and moved on
I was going to move it but it Beat me to the move
Spiders are amazing but mostly because I am not on their menu, nature can be very cruel as well as beautifull
I was using a Canon T7i with a Canon 18-55mm lens. I shot pics in various modes… Manual, Close up and Auto. The variable in all of the pics was lighting. It is quite dark on the porch. I set the camera on no flash as that generally washes out everything. I had a small, but powerful handheld flashlight and moved it around until I had enough light on the subject, but no shadows in the picture….
We have had monkey-faced orb weavers set up housekeeping on our porch. I put insects in their webs to keep then around. We got large egg sacs, which we tucked under eaves and got to watch them balloon away in spring. I don't recognize that one.
Oh great we have some type of alien spiders hanging out on our porch !!! 🙃
HOW COOL!!!!! Every time I think you couldn't be any more amazing than you are…..you come up with a monkey faced orb spider tale and I'm even more amazed!
Actually, some of the arboreal tarantulas can. So can some of the larger jumping spiders. Orb weavers, not so much.
Yep, then add to it a species that we can't identify, and, well, it's not good
Nope, but there are a very few tiny limits on what I have seen before. The key is knowing what is dangerous. The rest is just stuff we can scare Montanajoe with.
Cracked me up,,,
