,,,,,,, for something like this ??
I was gifted a 1911 and considering doing another ‘cutaway’. Your opinion is appreciated. I did the below with a Dremel tool and files, but now have a mini mill.

Not for me however
However i want say . Awesome work forge
I would wager their would be people or gun shops interested As a display or unique gift
When I worked at Honda they had some company that would do cut aways of engines and transmissions
Some would rotate to show what was going on inside
They Were used for displays and primitional static displays in the entrances of the plants
I know it was not cheap to have them cut away but the cost has long left my memory
I have saw them for sale on GB.
Throw it out there with a modest reserve and see if it has any value too anyone.
Waste of a functional firearm
Depends on whether you’re pitching or catching, Sparky ,,,,,,, just did a quick search and one sold for,,,,,,,
Sold:
$4,025 USD ,,,,,,, on another site.
I should have looked before asking.
with the mentality of buyers now days you may want to engrave on the slide, do not fire live ammo….
I have seen them for sale ………………….. they sell fast and not cheap.
Beautiful work Forge.
So you have your answer.
Your work is always amazing
You do nicer work with a Dremel and files than I probably would with a CNC mill.
I look at cut aways as learning tools. What is it they say, a picture is worth a 1000 words. Very impressive job you did there. Unless someone knows the firearm and its mechanical workings intimately, it would be very hard to make a cut away model. Really and out standing job you done there.
Yes, I was wondering what kind of groups that baby is capable of shooting 😜
Very fine work forgemonkey !!!!
