It got me!

redneckandyredneckandy Member Posts: 9,714 ✭✭✭✭

Covid, that is. I haven't even had a cold since 2019, and this hit me the day before I was supposed to go out of State for an antique air show. First night it felt like I was hit in the back of my head with a bat and all my skin was lightly sanded. I could not sleep because I was constantly moving trying to get comfortable. Fever and no appetite. I'm on day three and it has pretty much run its course.

This was nowhere near as sick as I have been, but I still wouldn't recommend it.

It effects people differently. I got it in '22 from an inconsiderate person who wouldn't stay home. It was like a sinus infection, but we were up to date on vaccinations. We're just waiting for the latest one (#6?) cause it ain't goin away. Glad you're getting past it & sorry it ruined your trip.

Sorry you have to suffer from it. Judy, ironically, waited to catch it the week after Geriatric Joe said the pandemic was over. I think she did it just to prove him wrong. She was put on Paxlovid and it was no worse than a mild cold for a few days. I can honestly say, I don't know if I have ever had it because they estimate 10 - 20% of the cases are asymptomatic. Since I had no symptoms, I never had the test even though I didn't isolate from her when she was sick. I hope you continue to get better. Bob

I had it 3 weeks ago, proof that the vaccines don't work.

I can't imagine you win many arguments with your wife! That's a woman that'll go to great lengths to prove a point!

Get in contact with your doctor and get Paxlovid within 4 days of symptoms, it works.
When I had Covid I took within 48 hours, next day I was sitting on the back porch feeling good, 48 hours later I felt fine. Most doctors will prescribe Paxlovid over the phone with out having to come into their office. Only side effects was it gave a metallic taste in my mouth, like you put a couple of Penny in your mouth.

I bought Ivermectin at Tractor Supply. I took it for 2 days. However, I started it late, on day 5 or 6 of the illness, not sure if it helped me or not. Ivermectin does have a good track record if you take it early, day 2 or day3.

I agree about the Paxlovid. My wife and I both had Covid and took the Paxlovid and only felt bad for 2-3 days. In our state if you are over 65 there are no questions asked to get the prescription and it is free.

When I got codeword virus, I took no medication and got over it in couple weeks.

Few weeks after that they locked me in facility with blood clot on lungs. They would in my room dressed in a space suit with a backpack. They would give me shots in my stomach. They called it codeword.

Thanks for the well wishes, I'm over it already! The only lingering side effect is I can't smell a dang thing. I can taste food just fine but not smell. I even took a few whiffs of some pretty potent chemicals at work today and nothing.

I got the China virus after my wife brought it in from school. About three days of 102 temp and laid out on the couch, but I survived. Glad you're doing better.

I said I'm done with it, but not quite. This morning I woke up with a bit of a productive cough. It is 4 weeks now. It is 92 percent gone, but keeps hanging on.

You woke up just this morning with a productive cough but it's been 4 weeks now?
