Not a bad Monday at all....
Sometimes a day just runs along in a good direction…. Last week the scope on my primary deer rifle bit the big one. It would not stay zeroed so I invested in a new Vortex and got it mounted and ready to go. Today I headed to the outdoor range at a nearby conservation area. The target picture shows two 5 shot strings. It was shooting a little right so you can see how I adjusted it over and the last 4 rounds were right about where I want to be. 1.5 to 2" high at 100 yards. I should be good out to 300 yards if I do my part…. Rifle used is a Savage 16 Trophy Hunter in .308 150 gr Remington Core-Lokt's
I sighted in my back up hunting rifle and got it right where I was hoping to be…. Shot a couple pistols and enjoyed talking with others sighting in their hunting rifles too..
The conservation area has two decent lakes so I headed over the large lake and ran some buzz bait over some lily pad sticks and other structure. Largest one of the day was this 18.25" bass. Great fight on an Ultra-light Ugly-Stick and 6lb test…. Caught 6 more small bass before moving on to another lake….
On the way to the other lake, DQ called my name…. A burger and this cone hit the spot…
Headed to another pond on the way home. Caught another 11 bass and then found some crappies to finish the day….
Sometimes you just have a good day !!!!! I hope you all had a good Columbus Day Monday too !

I did some minor carpentry work on the chicken coop to get it ready for winter. With temps getting close to the 30's at night the birds will have to start spending the night inside fairly soon.
Rounded up the feeders for the goats and chickens. Broke up a couple of vole nests I found in the barn and burned it all so they won't have the makings to rebuild. Trimmed back the copse of English Privet that grows next to the driveway.
Now just relaxing, watching a little football.
What a great day you had. Well done.
It's been a good long while since I had a soft serve or a Blizzard. Do they even have them still? If they do they must be tiny.
Nice!!!
Good shootin'. Remington Cor Lokt's are hard to beat. I've tried.
They still make Blizzards. They still have large ones but they have become pretty pricey.
you had a very good day
