I need to carry a loupe

I was at O'Reilly's looking for a parking light that went out. There I was trying to read the small print on the base of the bulb and for the life of me I couldn't read it. It could've been the crappy lighting but I had to ask he cashier to read it. 1157A.
After this I thought I now need to carry a folding loupe. More crap in my EDC. Glad I got a murse (Man pURSE). I mean a satchel. So anyone else carry a loupe?

I found myself putting several pairs of reading glasses on one time to read the instructions on some food thing I was "cooking"…..if you can call it that. I'm trying my best to avoid going higher than 1.5 readers….but I'll put two pairs on my face when it calls for it.
Larry does carry a loupe…..but he also carries three pocket knives….two flashlights….a pair of emergency sheers (like when he was a Paramedic)….his gun (maybe two)….handkerchief….and an unexplainable number of keys….maybe some chapstick.
Small mag glass on a leather string to wear around neck,ie old mans monocle
I use an app on my phone called “Mag Light “. It magnifies and lights up the subject for great reading or sliver picking! There is another one called “ Magnefier” that works well also.

You can gain a line or two on the Snellen chart with more light.
I keep a loupe in the car as well as some coin carriers and 2X2's. Good for checking out coins at a garage or yard sale. Also good to have for checking out firearms. I will have to look into the Apps mentioned above !
I've carried a bore light with me many times, but not a loupe.
I carry a loupe antiqueing and at gun shows along with a bore light. I also have a nice magnifier 10x, with light that slides into its case. Think the big river place.
My trick is keeping a fresnel lense in my wallet if magnification is needed, I cut out a flexible piece the size of a credit card from a sheet and it can also be used as a fire starter if needed.

Merlinnv12 - No government tracker for this dude. I suppose with smart phones I suppose they could carry less things.
Question. If you don't pay for service on the cell phone can you use all those "apps"? It would be silly to pay $500 for a magnifier with a light.

I use my non-supported smart phone for its camera features. I can take a picture of unreadable (to me) small print or object and then zoom in to read it.
For phone calls, I use my flip phone. Also keep copies of my current proof of car insurance in picture form on my smart phone. Probably many other uses for a smart phone device without having to pay for anything.

I’ve got one on my cell phone as well, it’s called: Loupe. Seen a clerk in a store using one on her phone, I was impressed with the clarity and magnification so I installed it on my phone. The magnification is X8. The app is free.
I just take a picture with my phone, and then enlarge that to read what was written.
go to dollar store and buy cheap set of readers………..
DPHMIN nailed it! That works wonderfully. I discovered that in 2014 when I found a gold ring with tiny writing in it which I could not make out with readers and a powerful magnifying glass. I took a picture, blew it up and read a man's name and a location. Did an internet search and found the guy. He said his ring was stolen 25 years earlier! It was a gold/diamond ring worth a lot of money. He was very happy when I sent it back to him.
