What is better, .45 or .9mm?
.45 for the sheer knockdown power, .9mm for the 200-round magazine capacity.
Be more specific, 9mm Corto or .45 Colt?
For conceal or open carry????
9mm Largo then 45-70
Their love-child…..the .40 S&W.
When you get old enough, we all go with the lightest one that does the job.
Beg to differ bro,10mm was. The .40S&W was the one that tried to kill the parent but ended up getting shunned.
As for the .45 or 9mm. It's all about the bullet shape and the planet alignment.
Yep, no debating the history. I was just throwing it in there as the blend of size and speed round.
Besides, what would a .45 vs 9mm thread be without going off topic? 😁
Which one would you want to be shot with
you had no choice it was going to happen ,the only option was 45 apc or 9mm standard ball ammo to make it more basic .
for the sake of argument shot in the leg or arm not a head or heart placement shot
45ACP. A proven winner over time. Not saying the 9mm doesn’t have it’s place, but, I’ll take the 45ACP when it comes to serious stopping power.
Since I don’t own a 9mm, I have to go with the .45 ACP in my Kimber Pro CDP. I don’t think 9mm ammo would work well in it!
.
didn't we determine the 243 was the most lethal round ever made??????
I've got one of each in a Marlin Camp Carbine. For actual stopping power easily exceeding the .45 ACP with capacities nearly the 9mm, I rely on the 10mm auto. The main thing either of these two have on the 10mm is cheaper ammo. I will admit, the .45 ACP does make an excellent subsonic suppressed platform.
44 works for me, an NAA in each front pocket.
FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT!!!!
😁
I was only trying to make the point that the open/concealed thread was much like the .45/9mm debate: ya likes what ya likes.
On duty, we always carried a 1911 in .45ACP. Only 8 rounds in the gun, but with a .45 you seldom needed more than one round per target, not a 15 or 17 round magazine-full per target. Same thing with the long guns. An extended magazine, 12 gauge pump action loaded with 00 buck and slugs was plenty for one shot stops. No need for several 30 round magazines of puny .22 caliber ammo as in the Hollywood movies.
30 super carry……enough said……its called super carry
lol. I have one ! 🤓
What gun you put the 30SC into?
let’s welcome System to the forum!,
This one. Awesome round.
Jammed up Glock.
Shots fired! Shots fired!
That, thats a Smith Shield EZ 😮😮😮 WOW. Thanks for the reply.
I'll see your Super Carry, and raise you with Ultra;
Honestly, I never heard of 30SC before you guys posted. You taught me / us something. Thanks for that.
@Grasshopper
@mohawk600
First. Why?
So a 30SC is basically a longer 9mm but thinner and holds about the same amount of powder?
What's next .40SC?
It's called options. It's innovations. Some get traction many don't. If it was all "we need" then it would be a 12 gauge pump, 22 cal. bolt rifle and a 30:06 rifle.
They already had a longer .40, it's called the 10mm auto but holds more powder and is much more versatile.
