Just beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
You got a lotta larch trees, and some tamarack too it seems….
Yessir, it just depends on which way ya look at 'em.
Where I live the conifers don't yellow or drop leaves, but we got into a relic bog near Kent, Ohio last year, and saw larches for the first time. Interesting trees, though none had the stature of the ones in your photo. Good birding too. Found one bog turtle too.
In Ohio you would have been seeing Eastern Larch. Ours are all Western larch, Larix occidentalis and the largest one known to exist is not far from us. It's down by Seely Lake, MT and has a diameter of 7'3" and a height of 163'. They are beautiful trees.
Wow! Did not know that. We got ponderosa, but no larch. Ancient trees.
You are blessed indeed.
Beautiful scenery, absolutely beautiful. Fall does have it’s moments.
Beautiful pics
Beautiful.
You would appreciate the tamaracks, Allen. They're our go-to firewood trees up here, straight grained and super easy to split.
I just looked them up, 21 million BTU per cord. That is unreal for a pine tree, pretty good firewood. Ought to make a good log cabin as well.
