Out and about today..... big storms coming

So I figured I would get out there before the rain takes over for a day or two.. Fished a different lake tonight and caught 7 smaller bass. While I was there I discovered I have been fishing near hornet's nest this year. The leaves falling off the trees revealed it.
Ran across some deer while walking out and coming back…

Nice, except for that nest. You obviously never disturbed them.
That is a good thing since I am allergic to bee stings !!!!
Do you carry a injector pen with you?
A story in pictures
Most of the time……😔
Might kick that up a bit in the appropriate months. Like having you around.
Don't mess with the nest, they won't mess with you. If they check you out to see if you are a treat, stand still. When they move away from you, slowly move away from the nest.
Noted sir !
I shot one of those nests with a shotgun one time. It did not turn out as I had envisioned. Don
I actually thought about that yesterday……… Thanks, now I know for sure !!!😮
A flame-thrower comes to mind!
.
Did you get the storm?
If you feel you must eliminate that nest, wait until a very cold day in Dec or January. Take a suitable ladder, some good pruning clippers, and a large trash bag. Trim the branches that will interfer with the bag, ease the bag over the nest, tie it off and clip the branch(s) supporting it. On the ground add a second bag to be sure, then put it in your freezer for awhile. I have done this when nests were threating entrances or activity areas. It works. I would not bother a nest in the forest that was no threat to anyone.
It blew in last night and. Rained off and on since. More storms expected tonight. It blew the ridge cap off the Cellar house. We have a roofer coming tomorrow to fix it. Hopefully things do not get too wild tonight
It is fine where it is….. I can avoid it since I know where it it located…
Good on the rain, bad on wind damage. Glad you got someone available to get it fixed. Got friends in OK that say its been wild there. Stay safe
