Time change

Except for those of you in a few states that have some common sense, it's that time of the year where we cut some of the blanket off the top and add it to the bottom.
Set your clocks back one hour.

oh shoot, thanks for reminder
I like it, more daylight after work to do yardwork. Wait, I don't work… Well anyway, I hate waking up in the dark, I can't find the bathroom.
Retired it makes no difference what time it is.
I am at the door at church for both services. Every year, some poor soul comes rolling in late having forgotten to change their clock…
No lights in your house?
Twice a year, change yer clock, strip and service yer Glock.
My dogs have natural clocks in their heads and they are a stubborn bunch when it comes to changes! 😮
The last time I followed the clocks, I nearly slipped in a pile of doo in the dark! 😁
My internal clock changed about a week ago. I started waking up at 3 AM instead of 4 AM.😗
Well. at least time is standardized, thanks to the railroads. Back when, every community set its own time, making for chaos on railroad time schedules. It wasn't a major headache when transportation meant horses, but when trains came in, the need to standardize times became apparent. Time zones were established that meant the sun was due south at noon in the center of the zone.
All was well until some idiot thought shifting everything by an hour would allow for longer work days in the summer. Except that farmers don't work by the clock; they work by the sun. And that didn't change one iota.
Time change doesn’t make any sense anymore. You’re not gaining any time just shifting it. Day light savings time makes more sense, gives you more sun light in the evening when it’s warmer during winter months. As far as coordinating time with other states, there is the Coordinated Universal Time (Greenwich mean time) that is standard world wide.
All that time change creates today is jet lag.
If that's the issue, why just an hour? Why not make sunset at midnight?
No, it's stupid.
Our government disrupts lives twice a year because they can. No reason for it but changing would relinquish the power.
I prefer it to stay on EST all year. I don't like it getting daylight at 7:30am like it has been. I prefer it being daylight earlier so I can get things done earlier and rest in the evening with a little darkness/shade.
When I had a full time job and an hour commute, DST had it's advantages. I made good use of that extra hour of daylight after work to do farm stuff.
The next time we're supposed to 'spring forward' we should only go 1/2 hour and then leave it the hell alone. If the rest of the world wants to keep up, fine. If not, let 'em do the math.
I love to play with guns in the nude.😉
@slinger I don't have a Glock, can I get naked with a Ruger? LOL!
I'm not going to get anything extra done with daylight before work. More likely with extra daylight in the evening. I think most people would agree. Changing back & forth just wreaks havoc on my soul.
All the farmers around me work other jobs and farm in the evening, so switching back isn't going to help them either.
I say leave it on saving time and be done permanently.
Ford electronics being what they are, you wait until noon and remove the battery cable then hook it back up.
Wa LA, clock is right.
We used to do that with our smoke detectors. The first time we fried bacon, they would sound the alarm. We then proceeded to disconnect the battery until the next time the time was changed. Never had a fire, so I guess it worked out alright.
"This is my rifle, this is my gun. One is for killin' one is for fun." You said it, I didn't….
Sitting on Sunday watching it get dark at 1500 was new. Just a few (maybe a dozen) more times of this silliness.
Wife took care of anything that needed manual reset
Lucky you......Joe!😉
My wife is none too bashful about informing me that........"That is YOUR job!".......among MANY others.😎😇
She even got down behind the electric stove with the Klein clamp on multi tester to check 240 outlet voltage.
I take it back Joe........
You hit the JACKPOT!!😳
Thank you.
