Out and about in the snow...

It snowed a couple days ago and turned cold. I have tried to enjoy some time outside and have taken a couple long walks and even did a little coyote hunting….I need to get an electronic caller. The old rabbit call I have used for years about winds me after blowing on it for 30 seconds 😦
I called a couple in, but not close enough for a shot. Next trip I will take a different rifle with a little more range…
It was especially enjoyable to sit on the front porch with Martha on my lap while it was snowing. Almost no sound other than the wind. It is very peaceful when no cars are running by or any movement other that the neighbors cows….
A few pics around the place……

Nice pictures
Nice! Looks cold.
It has been in the high 20's during the day and teens at night. That is cold this time of year around here !!!
Try tying some feathers together and hanging them from a bush or limb. As the wind blows the feathers move around and can get Mr. Wile E's attention. I've had better luck with that than trying to call though I've never used on of the electric calls.
Really nice pics
I will try that next time out !
Those are some nice looking deer in that one picture. lol
I’ve got an electric caller I’ve used on coyotes. It’s got the fur or feathers you can use on the motion wire, it’s all done remotely. They hear the call you set then see the fur move around and they start moving in, especially if there is snow on the ground. Coyotes aren’t very good hunters when it’s snowy and they get hungry and become more desperate.
It’s ok to buy yourself a Christmas present.
North MO didn't get that much snow and it's all gone today.
Electronic Caller? FoxPro X24 if you feel OK with spending $500. I went cheap 3-4 years ago and wish I had spent more for the Fox Pro.
Coyotes get scarce here when wolves move in. Haven't seen a coyote track in two weeks.
Saw that there had been snow north of me. I left home Saturday morning forward trip to Central Arkansas. It was spitting snow as I was getting in the car. Called #1 later. She said it didn't last long and was gone quickly.
I grew up in the snow, in MO. You can keep it! :)
I love living in AZ……we get one snow about every 4-5 years, and that is MORE than enough for me!

Built this in the mid-1980's.........and updated a few times.
Keeping a turkey mouth call at the ready........can help "pause" a yote.
^^^That reminds me of my first 'cobbled' together electronic call. Took a backpack to carry and the speakers were mounted on a piece of board. Tapes would get cold so had to keep a spare tape inside my coat.
Not long ago, I stumbled onto what's left of this monstrosity. OMG, can't believe I hauled all that around in the snow and cold.
Wow, those Johnny Stewart tapes bring back memories. Had a good selection of those back in the day, and many a coyote, fox, bobcat, and crow fell to the cries,
