My feet freeze on the deer stand. These have good reviews
Comments
I use heated socks they've come a long ways from the old c cell
Either two pair of cotton socks or one thick pair of wool socks in my muck boots is all I've needed. I live in Montana. Good luck
tell me more about them. Do you have a name for the boot cover or a website that you got them from. I’d like to try a set on.
Those things make it really difficult to use the clutch and brake.🙃
My 'deer stand' has 4 wheel drive and a heater. I need to remind myself to have the doctor upgrade my temporary permit to lifetime.
There is only one real way to keep your feet warm, that’s keep your feet moving and blood circulating. I remember those Micky mouse boots in the army, they kept your feet warm when moving, but after standing in one place for an hour or so your feet started to get cold. Or at least thats how it seemed with my feet anyway.
I just always had best luck using RedWing boots with two buckle over shoes.
I keep it simple. Kamik insulated rubber boots, and I put a “Hot Hands” packet in each boot (down towards toes) when I get up in the stand. Works great.
Side note: For really cold days, I also use a lot of the flat “Hot Hands” stick-on patches. One on my back and one on my chest on the first layer of clothing. Keeps me warm all day.
I use them. Walk to where I'm going to sit, open a hot hands pack and put one in each bootie in the toe area. If you use the toe warmers they have a sticky side so determine where you neither heat the most and stick them there. Remember to not crowd your feet inside your boots. Also, I don't use the toe warmers inside my boots because my feet get sweaty going to where I'll be hunting which is counter intuitive to keeping your feet warm.
My feet?
I tried those coverall type over-boots but they were too hard to get on and off of a size 13 insulated boot. What I finally fond late in my hunting career was a felt-pak boot two sizes larger with the extra room filled with wool socks. That kept my feet warm sitting in Northern Michigan. I suffered with cold feet for many years. I wore insulated rubber boot for years because I walked in water often
Good luck.
That was one of the drawbacks in the reviews. Not big enough to fit over man sized boots.
I have an insulated shack. Fits on a trailer pulled with 4wheeler. After the heater is lit feet never get cold.
The best trick I learned after a lifetime if cold feet was simple . My stands were a long walk . By the time I got there my feet had sweated a bunch . Wet feet get c old regardless of how many socks etc you have on . Dry feet ,not so much . I started using antiperspirant deodorant on them . Dry feet stay warm
Muck Arctic Pro boots. Warm, dry, and quite comfortable. Their 'comfort range' is -60°F to 30°F / -50°C to -1°C.

when super cold I use the arctic pro muck and I also have battery heated socks.
They are rechargeable. Mine have a remote but, I wish I would have spent a little extra for the Bluetooth controlled ones.
No help with your question, but I will give my 2 cents. 😁
Gerbing heated insoles, with the seperate battery/controller and your feet will NEVER get cold again. Well, until the battery dies. Thats why I got my wife 2 batteries. Upfront cost is a little higher, but it can actually heat up to 120* in freezing temps.
My wifes problem is she has cold feet. If you put cold feet into the most insulated boots in the world.....they will stay COLD!
Thanks
Those booties would come in handy for hiding track and splashes of blood for wet work. More long lasting than plastic shopping bags. And stylish, too. Got to get a one for my Crocs.
where did you get the boot covers? Do you suggest getting one or two sizes bigger?
Yes, Gary, some of the reviews recommended getting a bigger size.
I have an old pair of Mickey Mouse boots.
Change your socks as soon as you get on stand. No matter what boots you wear. Dry socks help alot. As soon as they get cold change them again. I have used the Micky mouse boots alot. But you still need dry socks. Those over bags don't work for big size feet. 12/13 an up. Go buy a used sleeping bag. Same principle. I had frost bit as a kid on my toes. I wear regular socks into the woods. When i get on stand I put my silk liners on then wool socks. Back into the heavy boots or Micky mouse boots. Also still wearing woolrick coat an pants. They never let you down
Do you have a spotlight and silencer to round out the picture I have of how you deer hunt? (-:
