The PORCH project is done...who knows who wins this battle of the porches, but I'm pleased
My brother lives in a subdivision….he is the middle house in a circle. All the surrounding homes face his house in the middle. That would drive me nuts, but his is a sweetie pie social person, single with no kids, so he doesn't have that crazy breakdown that I have from time to time.
For those of you who haven't kept up. He built a porch on the back of his house. It is wonderful.
This picture was before it was 100% done….he has a ceiling with several fans….the roofing above the white fireplace backing has been removed and there is a HUGE TV there now.
Day one of our porch….we had a Magnolia tree cut down…..here is the house before they started!
THREE DAYS LATER…….OMG!
They put in an outlet that will allow us to put a TV on that wall over to the left. We have added several lights, strands of "fun" outdoor lights. I'm pretty happy with the outcome.

Oh….and before anyone starts to ask….this was $30K before it was done. Wood is stupid expensive (that is what I'm telling myself) and we decided to do this instead of send our kids to college….we are selfish that way.
Looks like a great place for a GunBroker hodown!
Hard to believe they did all that in just three days. How many people on the crew?
Amazingly beautiful. Congrats Kasey family.
A guy named Omar had one other guy on day one. They had the cement steps hammered out, the top deck that meets both back doors totally done and the frame of the entire lower deck done on day one.
Day two…Omar and his main guy came back and had the flooring to the lower deck done. They had a couple young kids with them (Thanksgiving holiday so the kids are out of school.)
Day three….they had the long part off to the right done, both ramps, the step off to the back yard, the two roofs covering both parts framedg and the electrical done.
Day four……breaker box installation to all the plugs, steel roof installed on both covers.
If you gave me a year I couldn't have done this.
Thank you….we should have done this 10 years ago.
We sit outside on the porch swing a LOT these days….which is why we decieded to go all out with this nonsense.
Very nice, enjoy!
I like what you have had done a lot Kasey! I can see you and your family enjoying this for many generations to come!
Beautiful porch.
The livin' is easy down in Dixie.
you win!
very nice
Sweet
now Larry can retire and have a place to go and sit and enjoy life.
Man those trees look like they're gonna be next to fall on the house.
There are two giant oak trees in the front yard, but the tree at the back is a black walnut tree that isn't as big as the oaks. There is another magnolia tree off to the side that is pretty large, but its branches are all the way to the ground and is very hearty. The only trees we worry about are the oaks…..but the way oaks age and die, they drop branches left and right before they actually die, so you get a good bit of warning that you need to do something about them. Right now we have one oak we are talking about getting rid of because it has started dropping limbs.
Beautiful…… Looks like a great place for relaxing or get togethers with others !!!!😁
